  1. crappy pattern for the foreseeable future. I'd be happy with a cutter for the time being to break up the dry regime....
  2. Exactly. Cant just hype "cold and snow right around the corner" from 11/15 to 3/15 every year. The current pattern is not great and any changes are still in fantasy land range at this juncture. We still continue on with the very dry pattern which is a problem too...
  3. I dont think there was any measureable snow March 2020
  4. that is very true-too much cold usually leads to high and dry
  5. most records are in the mid 60's-many will likely see that once the winds usher in the warmer air in a bit.
  6. just got a wind shift here to the SW and temps jumped about 10 degrees up to 56 now
  7. looks like a -PNA there and raging SE ridge
  8. most interesting this map has looked in 6 weeks
  9. if it's not going to snow let it torch. Still waiting for any kind of decent synoptic storm-last one was 10/25 give or take.
  10. Nasty bust shaping up for those cold December forecasts.
  11. Going to Iceland for 6 days-(leaving tonight) I'll see snow there.
  12. was kind of a surprise I didn't see it on any models...
  13. wind hail and heavy rain here with that line
  14. I love snow more than anything but the bitter cold wears on me as I age LOL.
  15. A silver lining to a warm winter...lower heating costs!
  16. a couple problems I see that are largely being ignored. The cold pool of water south of AK. That tends to favor a vortex over AK which is never good for us. The use of analogs from 30-50 yrs ago-the base state is warmer so how useful are they???
  17. Normally I'd say that's overdone, but the warmth always seems to over perform.
  18. Last few years have had some surprises both good and bad so who knows. 19-20 was horrid but we had a nice bounceback last year
  19. so much for the big Thanksgiving to xmas great pattern some were barking about....never really saw it given what's out there....almost nothing in our favor....
  20. We need moisture. November was less than an inch for most locales. Other than the big October rainstorm it has been fairly dry since Ida on 9/1
  21. 50 here as well-above Upton's forecast
  22. given the cold water south of Alaska that is a possible outcome. Seems that AK has some cold winters when that cold pool is present and we torch
  23. Stuff like that is rare though....usually if the goods don't arrive by mid January it's not happening
