  1. it will be an issue mainly at the elementary level as 12 and up will have vaccines by Sept most likely
  2. teachers are in classroom here-we were "hybrid" for most of the year-abruptly went back full time 3/8, about 10% chose to remain remote-they have separate teachers for that program. Whole thing has been a mess, should have gone back full time in Sept....yeah some kids will be out on Quarantine but on any given day here 85-90% are in school (remote kids not included in that #) Our system has already said there will be no all remote option come Sept.
  3. not necessarily-closures/lockdowns just encourage people to congregrate in private homes and spread it....CA had the strictest wintertime lockdowns yet had the highest rates in the country...go figure....
  4. I flew out to CO to ski in Jan (no vaxx then) it was fine-I wore a mask and took whatever precautions I needed but felt like I had to get back to living at some point....
  5. Agreed-seasonal trend at work there
  6. yep-look at 2-3 weeks ago from this week-looked bad and instead it's 60 and sunny all week...
  7. True-but it will be less deadly and we will learn to live with it b/c we have to-can't keeps schools/hospitality businesses crippled forever with this
  8. hopefully we can get the # of infections down in the next few weeks-it's clear the variant is here...race against time....
  9. Got my 2nd dose of Pfizer today at the Danbury mall-nice drive through site-never left my car
  10. they said the same thing after the big cold outbreak there-all the shelters and people crowding into homes that had electricity would lead to a big outbreak-never happened. And that was indoors. The stadium is outdoors so even less chance....media has to hype up every little thing....
  11. Do they really have records back that far????
  12. same here. Eastern and Northeastern CT got crushed...I remember heavy rain all day and knew it was toast when we were wasting that much on rain....got 3 slushy inches overnight as the storm pulled away mainly on grass/cars
  13. Nasty day 41 and some light rain here and there
  14. That's how I got mine in mid March-I go back 4/6 for the 2nd dose. Was glad to get it then as CT goes everyone eligible starting tomorrow. Will be a cluster for a couple of weeks trying to get a slot
  15. how can anyone know what these "Far worse long term effects" are LOL
  16. I havent seen any studies on that...anything credible that's not from anti vaxx website?
  17. How about getting COVID instead and dying? How about helping the country get to herd immunity so we can get back to living?
  18. why not get it? What are you worried will happen?
  19. the problem is you have to start outlaying $$$ now for setup costs. And right now there's no way to tell what June or July will look like So some of it comes down to that....
  20. it'll end up being 18 months to 2 yrs of event cancellations....amazing....
  21. Time for weenie posts like "this hurricane will hit NYC" or "this line of T-storms will hold together and crush us"
  22. where's the big -NAO the doom and gloomers were touting? Looks like a 2-3 day cool down then right back to warmth/sun
  23. got down to 29 here, solid frost on everything
