  1. yeah I leave my phone downstairs at night before heading up for bed....
  2. I stopped drinking during the week for the most part-just makes me tired and I need to get the household stuff done after the kids go to bed.....
  3. ha-the modern speakeasy....people around here would drive the 15 miles or so to the nearest NY package store.....
  4. it was still stupid, you just bought the booze on Saturday to drink it Sunday. Served no purpose whatsoever.
  5. All the CT people rolling in too. Looking like it will be legalized here but won't go into effect until May 2022...classic CT giving money to other states for another year....reminds me of the no booze law that was here, we were the 2nd to last in the country to fold on that stupid law.
  6. that's what you might see more of vs a vaccine passport-businesses voluntariliy doing stuff like this...
  7. pretty much! The trash has blown in....
  8. they have that here too...but doesn't look like many people pick them up for some reason....
  9. I wonder if hot food/soup buffets will ever come back in supermarkets...granted it's been shown that COVID spread from surfaces is very low, but I wonder how many people would be willing to scoop a thing of potato salad into a plastic cup with a lid now?
  10. silly. How exactly did that prevent the spread of covid? Whole foods here still has it....
  11. I stopped watching most local newscasts years ago. (most of that you can read online and you have places like this for weather) I occassionally watch a national news broadcast at 6:30
  12. you're educated. Alot of America is not....
  13. everyone's ignoring most of the stuff here now (except masks indoors) example- Grocery stores still have the one way stickers on the floor and 6 feet markers by the checkouts...worthless...
  14. Doubt it. Most places didn't fully shut down this winter despite surging cases. But I agree, it's time to move on. We flattened the curve which was the original goal, not to eradicate the virus.
  15. the rolling quarantines at school are annoying right now-if my kid is exposed to someone nearby they have to quarantine going back to the last date of contact-one of mine had to sit home for 4 days. Assuming if they have the vaxx they don't have to do that....
  16. yeah that's pretty weird I see that here in the burbs....
  17. Better than the early days of the brain tickle-that was my biggest fear having to do that test....
  18. Once for me. Tested upon leaving Colorado from a ski trip. That's it.
  19. Some will remain...but the days of a multiplex in almost every town are over. The potential audiences are much much smaller going forward...who wants to pay $100 for a family of four (includes snacks) when you can watch it at home for $8? The 2 theaters here (one with 2 screens, one with 8 or 10) both closed here in the last year....
  20. CT is 100% open, but there are still things that are suffering. Take the local ice cream joint. It's open, but there's no concerts at local schools so you don't have 30 families hitting the place at once after their 5th grade concert. Catering for large parties? Technically open but who is throwing a large indoor party right now? Concert/lecture halls? Not really open if there's no events scheduled. It's not always a matter of what's "officially open"
  21. Silly. Outdoor spread is rare
  22. We know that it lasts at least 6 months. We don’t know if it’s longer (it could be) since it’s only been in existence for 6 months
