  1. I have to give some props to Doug kammerer, he explains things pretty well and doesn’t pump up the hype machine for no reason.
  2. Radar looks really good, greens and yellows filling in between leesburg and Winchester.
  3. I’m beginning to think there may be some 12-14 totals in the dc area,
  4. 5.25” in Takoma Park, more than I was expecting to wake up to, and the radar looks great.
  5. Well I also have a newborn and an almost 3 year old so I need to get SOME sleep.
  6. Picked up 0.25” in 11 minutes in these dark greens, very nice rates. 2.0” on the dot right now.
  7. I think after these heavy bands clear the area is a good time to get some sleep. Be well rested for part 2 tomorrow.
  8. 1.75” and just getting into these yellows in Takoma Park.
  9. Wow the NAMS look really good. That band of yellows looks to be orienting east west a little, could be a little training effect.
  10. Looks like the lulls are over around DC for the time being, radar has filled in nicely.
  11. 1.2”’ in Takoma Park, very nice event so far. Hard to believe the models say we have 24+ more hours of snow.
  12. As @Bob Chill predicted earlier you can see the dry slot filling in back towards culpepper and front royal.
  13. Flake size increased notably in Takoma Park the last few minutes.
  14. This little band over Montgomery doesn’t look amazing on radar but is accumulating efficiently.
  15. Nice little band over Takoma Park, everything whitening up in a hurry.
  16. 32/24 with SN- instantly sticking, I love starting off a storm at or below freezing and not waiting for it to cool down.
  17. Adding up the lower bounds of the precipitation 6 hr maps I get about 0.5 inches for DC, so it should be a good run.
  18. Hard to tell on meteocenter maps on mobile but I think UK improved a little with the Sunday night action.
  19. Main takeaway for me is it agrees with the placement of the CCB band Sunday afternoon/night with the NAM/ICON, just not as wet as the others. IMO a very good run.
  20. Looks like a little more action overnight Sunday which is an improvement too, not a blockbuster but another positive run.
  21. Not seeing the coastal kick in like the ICON or NAM, but still another good run.
