  1. Something that got me on 10/31/2021 and a relative of mine in Bow a couple years earlier was a plugged outlet to our foundation drains. Both of us ended up with flooded basements after heavy rain storms. His was a good distance from his house and packed with dirt. Mine is very accessible and visible but got plugged with leaves and grass clippings over a 15 year period. Once I got it unplugged, it flowed for DAYS. Basement water level dropped almost immediately. Not sure if this could be the case for your sister, but it's definitely worth looking into. Very quick and easy fix for a major problem.
  2. A little cleaning up down there won't hurt. Just got back in from heading around the bay. Lots of really high water. Inches from the bottom of the year round docks. Very close to getting up to road level on a couple of the low bridges on Route 4. Also very little debris on the roads that we typically see when there's higher winds. My lawn's looking lush and green. May need to get a mow in after it dries out.
  3. It’s kind of hard to see in the pic, but it’s showing we got 2.17” of rain since midnight. High gust of 27.3mph (not great placement for accurate gusts) and a high temp of 49.3 (39.9 at midnight).
  4. Have we reached a few hours after sunrise yet? Asking for a religious friend. High of 32.2 here so far today.
  5. That 12/23 storm that rolled through made for some serious spring clean-up work last year. We lost the biggest and lowest pine branches off a group that's far enough from the house to not be a concern but it took days with a chainsaw to clean them up. The pines close to the house sound similar to yours in that they're bunched up and somewhat protecting each other. It can be unnerving to look up at them during those windy storms. The 4 I mentioned are just on my property, the abutting property has a lot more and a couple could reach but if that happens, it's a bad day for everyone! Got to be some serious event for that to happen. Good luck tonight!
  6. Unfortunately, I've got some big pines real close to the house. Four on my property that could be a problem with a robust N/NE wind which we thankfully rarely get here.
  7. OUCH! What kinda place you running there?
  8. I'm concerned it's going to be a generator-ational event. Got plenty of gas and the generator already staged but would definitely prefer to keep the lights on.
  9. Not sure what your back-end access is with respect to the forum or how that part works, but looks like those links are currently supported. https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/476730-embed-xcom-posts/#comment-2961605
  10. Had one of those in our front yard in Deerfield in the early 1980's. That tree plus a slingshot yielded endless hours of entertainment!
  11. Accuweather's wind advisory page is cutting Great Bay in half. Is the implication that the immediate coast will likely not see higher winds? Or is this more a matter of you gotta draw a line somewhere?
  12. He had a couple good sized trees come down in the mid-Dec storm. Ground is still saturated up there and with the 12" he got yesterday, he's thinking things could get hairy tomorrow night. If they get a few inches of snow before the flip, it'll be interesting to see what he holds onto.
  13. My brother in Wolfeboro just sent me this screenshot from 3:14pm. I'm thinking everything will be more north of there. He said he's been checking various reports all day and they're changing by the hour:
  14. Are you thinking winds are likely to be more apt to verify with this one? Not looking forward to that. Already got the text from Eversource saying prepare for outages...
  15. Not trying to be flippant, but didn't we deal with exactly this in the Dec 17-18, 2023 storm a few weeks back? Or are you talking more IMBY?
  16. Being about 60' AMSL means we don't have a whole lot of elevation over here but we can still make do when the driveway gets covered. The kids got a few "runs" in today before they're back to the wheeled bikes in the warm rain on Wednesday.
  17. I imagine Tip will be along shortly to explain how the entropic tendency of the collective psyche on the board has manifested itself into the manifold of the genera and we will likely see a wholesale modal change in that behavior forthwith, likely prior to "clown range" depictions.
  18. I hope so, but I'm seeing a forecast of low 50's and over 2" of rain for my area. Not sure my 9 incher can survive that kind of abuse.
  19. I got the 11" for Kittery from this post, but feel free to twist the knife Edit: Ouch...Ok, I'm seeing it now - a 5" difference within Kittery alone?!
  20. Definitely, I would too. Especially since it was picked up on some models prior. It's interesting how sometimes the models can seem to be completely out to lunch, but then they go and do something like this ("...and totally redeem themselves!")
  21. It's interesting to me to see how these things just continually evolve up to and during the storm. Seeing Seabrook with 13" right on the water, which is about 14 miles as the crow flies from me, and Kittery at 11" which is 9 miles east of me was curious as I was under the impression that the immediate coast was going to get the least amounts. This storm worked out great though. Had a chance to expose a couple issues with the tractors that I can get buttoned up before we REALLY cash in on a future non-rain next one!
  22. We sat in the tiniest spitting flakes for a solid 7 hours (7:30am - 2:30pm) before it picked up again and gave us that additional 3ish inches. If that was accumulating during that time we would've had a really solid event. No complaints, just observations My brother up in Wolfeboro (800' ASL) measured 12.5" at about 6pm last night. The spotter reports for my area posted in the other thread looked reasonable.
