I believe you've mentioned in the past that you're on a dirt road. Ironically, this property too is on a dirt road and there's a paved roadway about 1,800' away. We could hear it while walking the lot but it was just a hum in the background. The building area is right about at 900' on a 1,000' high hill which I like. We're seriously considering it and have some questions into the realtor before making the leap. The "issue" with the club trail is exclusively due to wanting privacy and solitude. We've discussed the positives of having it as well where it's entirely possible we may end up getting sleds and having a blast accessing the trail system right from the backyard

Thank you all for the input - it's really helpful. The wife and I are looking for a nice quiet, private spot for a peaceful place to live out our 2nd half. At 900' elevation with a beautiful view we both really would like to jump on this.

Couple questions for the active snowmobilers amongst us here: I looked at a property today that I'm really interested in but it's got a local snowmobile club trail bisecting a portion of it. It's not a corridor or primary trail - it's specifically listed as a "secondary" and "club trail". Is it possible to say what kind of frequency trails like this are accessed/used? Is it frowned upon if/when trails are rerouted on the same property? Are these trails used in the summer? This is a rural vacant building lot and a location to build a house is above the existing trail by about 250 feet in a straight line and maybe 75 to 100 feet in elevation. Seems close for someone who's looking for significant privacy (me!) and am seriously considering this property. Tagging a few people here who I've seen post about snowmobiling in case you have any input on this - TIA: @WinterWolf @dryslot @mreaves

It's interesting how this kind of experienced assessment seems to be glossed over or simply ignored. Maybe it's easier to latch onto a "pattern is crap", "warm and dry for the next two weeks", or "worst kind of weather you can get" statement with a quick glance at the models. The quote above sounds reasonable and meaningfully thought out. Time will tell how it all plays out over the next few days.

That’s crazy that you’ve only got about 2.5”. Google maps says I’m 6.25 miles in a straight line to the center of downtown Portsmouth. That’s a steep gradient!

When I was at Killington last year I recall seeing something about the Skyeship gondola being retired - is it just the original cabins? Anyone know if the Skyeship will be running this year? Just took a look at their website and it says they try to open it in late December but wasn't sure if that was simply historical info or current year expectations.

I'm curious if they actually can learn enough to improve or is it simply impossible due to too many variables and too much complexity for what it's trying to solve. It's cool that we're going to get to witness how they play out over the next several years.

Is there a general time period when the highest gusts are expected to subside in your area? We're heading to the Seaport later this afternoon and picking up our son at Logan at 5:30am tomorrow. Curious what kind of ride down we may have.

Any likelihood of delays at Logan early Saturday morning? Our son is taking a redeye out of LAX into BOS arriving at 5:30am. We're staying overnight about 20 minutes away to pick him up bright and early but am curious what the outlook is for possible delays.
