  1. March is looking very chilly across much of the south according to the CPC.
  2. 6 years seems like a long time without snow. Is that normal for your area ?
  3. I have never in my life seen ice in Georgia after Valentine's Day.
  4. I am in Georgia. In Atlanta, for instance, average highs are in the mid 60s the second week of March so I guess mid 50s would be considered solidly BN. Hopefully we can have temps 30-40 BN so we can get some snow.
  5. So lets say it makes landfall at 130 mph and is in Valdosta 3 hours later. Could that mean Valdosta could potentially see 100 mph sustained winds ?
  6. Is it just me or are some of the models starting to show it a bit further west ?
  7. I've been in Georgia for the past month and it's been nonstop heat and humidity. It's taking a toll on me.
  8. Awesome summer ? I see nothing but Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings across much of the Southern US. It's been a summer to remember for sure.
  9. Schools in Metro Atlanta go back today.
  10. Honestly everything lately seems to be highly anomalous. Can we just get some normal weather ? .
  11. I wonder when the last major winter event in GA was in Mid to Late March ?
  12. 28F would be about 30 degrees below normal, which would be the equivalent of having a high near 90 in Mid March.
  13. Why was March historically more snowy ? Are average temps colder in March than December ? .
  14. Is there no model or map that takes into account ground temps ?
  15. I would imagine the first half of March is more conducive for snow than the last half of March.
  16. I don't care how cold it is in March, it is always difficult to get snow especially in the lower elevations.
