Why does the HRRR initialize with 2M temps several degrees above observed actuals?

I realize that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but we can’t even get a decent sleet or ice storm around here.

Currently 36.3/14 after a morning low of 18.9. Sun has been peeking through all morning, but clouds are rolling in from the west. It’ll be interesting to see how close I reach (or exceed) RAH’s forecast high of 42.

It was a defensive masterpiece. Nice to see considering the skaters they have out. Canes might be one of the best 3-on-3 teams around. I’d post in the NHL thread in our sports zone forum here, but it’s all Bruins and other northeast fans in there. LOL

That’s interesting. RAH forecasts a low of 21 here and I’m at 27.9 now. I was hoping to get excited about this event, but I’m expecting maybe some light snowflakes from that first band coming through Saturday evening and a 33 degree rain on Sunday. Our events are increasingly marginal and on the edge. The take-it-to-the-bank storms of yore are few and far between.

My neighborhood’s utilities are underground, but doesn’t help when the lines to the neighborhood are above ground. LOL

I had the propane guy come out today and top of my tank. Decent chance the generator might be kicking on for all of us.

That’s a pretty bad ice storm for the Triad on 18z NAM and 3km.

Have Triad tv mets even mentioned freezing rain as a possibility? I’ve just seen them talk about rain mixed with a little snow.

I was not expecting the Canes to play this well tonight against the Lightning after such a long quarantine break. Tight game with some excellent goaltending.

You and I are a short drive apart up hwy 29, so I’d say you’re more SE than MA for most events. Depends on the event though.

I’m having the propane tank for the generator topped off tomorrow. Doing that always makes the ZR disappear.

32.7 and snowing. Roof is white. Sticking to ground nicely. Might be able to pull off an inch before it’s done.

Central north Guilford Co about a mile south of the county line. My temp is dropping like a rock all of a sudden.
