  1. Well if I can't get rain to thaw my driveway for the first time in 10 days. Might as well add some to the season total.
  2. We have been barely outside of the dry slot most of the day, absolutely ripping again. 19/14 SN+
  3. We got a surprise inch and half last night, which no model picked up even as it was happening. If you look at the 12z HRRR it’s initializing way to dry. Compare the actual radar to the model. Maybe I’m a weenie, but until the coastal really gets going we don’t know how long the dry slot will stick around. Especially as everything pivots and moves west to east. 2-5 through the triangle isn’t out of the question. We only need to get like .2 inches of liquid to achieve that.
  4. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but I do love the atmosphere allowed for snow immediately. No watching the wet bulb, cold flakes as soon as the radar turned green. Officially snowing.
  5. Light flurries have begun in Rougemont (half way between Durham and Roxboro)
  6. To be fair to RAH all their headlines include language for potential significant amounts above forecast amount.
  7. I lurked for years in the Mid-Atlantic forum before coming back home to the southeast. Living in DC seeing the deform band destroy places north and west of where the models always pegged it, always frustrating. But given the power of this storm and frontogenesis likely created someone is going to jackpot a little north and west of where current guidance suggests.
  8. Transitioned to heavy sleet with a few stray flakes.
  9. 21/-4 in extreme northern Durham County (NC). It's snowing, but the flakes are ice rimmed, so there is a light ping.
  10. Does anyone know how to get the latest sounding for RDU?
  11. 25 degrees with SN (maybe SN+) in Rougemont on the Durham/Person County Lines. A little over an inch on the grass and roof, roads finally caving.
  12. Very light flurries in Rougemont (Northern Durham County)
  13. 22/3 I guess we cant complain when we just got 9 inches of snow after temperatures in the 60's the day before, but it is tough to waste this good cold air.
  14. Not using a snow board, but measured a little over 7" here in Cheverly.
  15. Heavy Sleet with some rimmed flakes.
  16. Everything cover, except roads, here just NE of DC in Cheverly. Very wet and slushy inch.
  17. Are we expecting a pivot and the bands coming back through the east? I know they are weakening, but the HRRR and I think the NAMs should some sort of pivot. I want another inch.
