  1. Found a preview of this winter except for one storm that hammers North Carolina but gets suppressed.
  2. Also it falls on the run at the evening not even early morning which makes it even more impressive.
  3. It does seem to be taking over recently. Wonder if when the MDR appears more inactive the storms remain as waves over it and then take off in the Caribbean making the difference even more pronounced.
  4. I need the latest 18z model run of the GFS.
  5. Seems to have jogged East in the past hour or so, which gives it more time to strengthen.
  6. Just like clockwork a new storm was just named with U.S impacts expected.
  7. Hey, my "friend" thought it would be funny if he logged in under the name SnowenInThere or something like an alt account and spam the site, this is not me. So just a heads up to the mods and such, I doubt he will but it would not be beyond him. In other words it is about as likely as Ji getting excited about a snow event but just in case wanted to make this message.
  8. YAY, Now we get get fantasy snow storms on the models by October not December, lets go!
  9. I bet a lot of people are pretty surprised about this storm but anytime you have a tropical anything over the gulf you got to pay attention if you life on the coast.
  10. Fixed once again, thank you for telling me still new to making threads and stuff so it’s fine to bug me.
  11. Just edit your original post for the thread and change the title. Fixed, thank you.
  12. Sorry, I don't know how to change its name... how do you?
  13. I guess the wedge won out once again.
  14. Since the storm is over the gulf now and could be threat to the U.S if it can get it's act together thought it was time for a thread, though it will most likely be nothing but a rainmaker.
  15. After looking at this thread I have to think that climate change (caused by us) is linked to these storms in some way. This is simply due to when the atmosphere heats up the ocean heats up and when you get worse storms. We have also seen a noticeable uptick in RI in storms right before landfall, which would make sense given that the ocean's temperature is rising, the simplest explanation is that climate change is making these events worse. As for flooding that is an area that we have pretty conclusively linked to climate change with how warmer air can hold more moisture and we have seen that with record breaking floods. With all of these events happening at the same time the simplest explanation is that the climate is changing because of us and this is leading to worse storms.
  16. On one hand it is a bit disappointing that we missed the tornadoes and flooding around DC but we did have the overnight supercell which was at least something. We also do have to know that this was probably the best outcome for us where we missed out on what New York got, who knows maybe we are missing events now so we can get a storm this winter. Oh well at least it feels nice outside.
  17. What when’t wrong for the Tor threat in DC? Was it the morning supercell robbing instability for later? If so how did other areas further north get worse tors?
  18. With tornadoes to the East and North of DC I have to wonder if that supercell overnight caused there to be less instability over the immediate suburbs, if anyone who knew what was going on would answer I would be grateful. Also if that is not it then what is causing storms to be lackluster in the immediate DC area even when areas to the north have tors(besides crapvection because areas to the north have had that too so I just dont understand why they have tors and DC does not)?
