I think if his kids are older (14 and up maybe) and he was going into a cat 1 or less than that could be pretty fun for both him and the kids but a Cat 4... well I hope you have good insurance.
Looks like the eyewall is almost fully wrapped and an eye is trying to form? Might just be over-analyzing considering its Friday and nothing is happening in class but I dunno looks like an eye.
After staring at this because we are not doing anything in school I have to say that there is definitely a closed low level circulation and pretty far north. Wonder if we are already looking at a tropical storm. Looks to be a bad scenario shaping up.
HWRF shows a cat 5 landfall on the gulf coast by 99l of course it is the HWRF but the GFS also shows a major land falling by the end of August. Something to watch
Don't worry all we need is the gulf stream to reverse, sure farming across the Eastern US and Europe would be extremely difficult but I think its worth that sacrifice.
What I was thinking when satellite came out this morning, it look as if the convection was nearly entirely out of the convection. So it might be good to slow the hype train for a bit.
Going to be a shock for sure, they probably think at worse it might be a nor'easter which wont end well if this storm sticks to the high end of intensity guidance.
That would be a super impactful track, New York would probably have lots of flooding concerns and some wind ones too. Like I said yesterday not time to panic yet though.
