  1. I have a question for you fine folks.... In Garden City, NY I'd guesstimate we had around a foot of snow before 8 or 9 hours of sleet. Id like to know how much snow that would be if it had remained snow through the storm. any ideas? If you could point me to where to find qpf for the storm I can figure it out too. I looked, cant find. I do snow removal and want an idea for invoicing. Charging for more than a foot as that sh#t was heavy! Much appreciated!
  2. In Rockville Centre, in nassau county towards the south shore, there's basically no accumulation.I work doing residential snow removal in garden city, which is a little further north, maybe five miles and there was a couple inches today. All slushy , a little snow on colder surfaces...had to clean it all up case freezes tonight. Snowing moderately in RVC now

  6. Im in western Nassau county, LI, elevation around 90'. Just got back in from putting ice melt down at client's homes. Glad I did. Definitely slippery and a glaze on paved surfaces. Especially slate, brick and blacktop. Went from rain to sleet to a few snow flakes.
  7. NWS seems to think we are getting a decent snowfall, which I understand can easily change in the next few days.

  9. What's the consensus about more snow, sleet overnight thurs and thru Friday for Nassau county long Island? Eyeballing id say we have 4 plus inches. Im out doing snow removal now. Thanks for any replies!

  12. I can't remember last time we had an all snow event on l.i. And I am in the snow removal business! Every storm in last bunch of years, aside from 1 to 2 inch storms, seem to be snow, rain and sleet. A foot of plain snow would be great! Especially if it takes 30 hrs to fall, easier to keep up with. Really appreciate all the thought you all put into making this such a great resource for forecasts, knowledge and sometimes humor!
