  1. with today, 7.8"...I won't complain at all, but....lol
  2. Except for us in the SW portion of the area....I think we need one of those canal runners to catch up
  3. 56° yesterday afternoon to 28.3° this morning and just measured 3.5" of snow. Which was more than what we had in the second half of the storm at the beginning of the month.
  4. Not saying it is right, but that is another cold air mass showing up on the GFS later next week. Seems like these air masses keep showing after the hint of a lower 48 wide blowtorch that end up being 1-2 days worth of warm sector....
  5. Oh I know and fully expect it to continue that through day 5 at least.... It was nice seeing that strong high pressure sitting around the area and not way out in the Atlantic at this time frame.
  6. Great job GFS at shifting our snowstorm 500+ miles to the west in one cycle....
  7. It seems like the only surprise at this point is going to be that we actually get more than just a slushy inch or 2 on grassy surfaces. Seems like maybe a small area might see 2-3 inches, probably eastern areas....Some lucky person might measure 4 inches on their deck
  8. I am certainly an amateur, but when the Hi res models show lake effect streamers coming through NY state by this evening, that usually doesn't bode well for snow here. The dry air is going to eat anythjng coming up the coast here. 2-4 inches of shredded virga coming....
  9. Euro starting at hour 198 would make a lot of people in SNE quite happy....
  10. One can't say things aren't active. At least the pattern isn't cold and dry, we can save that for January. We are going to somehow end up wayyy above average in the snowfall department for the Month and probably season, but still end up with above to much above normal for the season in the temp department. Maybe we should enjoy this climate changing "period" before it shifts into the way too warm to snow portion...
  11. everyone complaining about this month, I actually still have snow on the ground, 7 days in a row to be exact....not bad for the first week of December.
  12. The GEFS at 6z looked great out west starting around day 7....Who knows, it is the GEFS, but something to watch at least, better than the blow torch many were expecting to happen after this initial cold snap....If that cold does end up coming the middle of the month, then fully expect the Grinch right on time!
  13. snow started again around 8:30, just measured 1.8" new so far....brings the storm total up to 2.8", could be worse for the first couple days of December. It is quite beautiful outside right now and will look amazing as the sun comes up
  14. not even under those yellows yet and it is dumping snow out there....
  15. you might end up in the middle of that....quick half a foot for you? I have noticed through the years when in comes in from the northeast, it always dries up before it gets here....hope I am wrong
  16. assuming it doesn't fall apart that whole mess is headed right for me!
  17. Moderate to heavy snow out there, at least a 0.5" so far...temp down to 29.7° with the wind blowing, what a difference a couple hours make
  18. I was just thinking that....2-4 on the recent GFS
  19. Finally some light to moderate snow out there, temperature down to 31.6°/29.3°....lets go 1-5 inches!!!
  20. Finally starting to see some flakes with that developing band down in Newtown...temperature just started dropping too, so hopefully some accumulations are coming. 32.2°/30.1°
  21. Icy around here, we continue to get to get accretion with the light mist falling...
  22. second that....I have noticed each Hrrr run has the deform band pushing further back west, anyone think there is something to that, or just the Hrrr doing weird things past 6 hours? I think it has us snowing even back here now toward dawn tomorrow.
  23. ha, yeah temp sitting at 32.1° with occasional bursts of snow...just enough to keep the driveway slushy...slowly adding to the snowboard, maybe an additional 0.2 so far to get an inch total so far...
  24. yup, not sure what it is, but has been steadily filling in around here...snow starting to pick up now. I found 1 model that has somewhat of a correlation to the current radar and it is the HRW WRF-NSSL model on pivotal...not sure if it is any good, but the 12z run matches almost perfectly so far
  25. getting some nice bursts of snow here...this was definitely not on any of the computer models for this morning, so who knows what is going to happen at this point. Hoping for positive busts for everyone! 31.8° atm
