  1. We cooked down here.....It's going to snow again, but instead of discussing above or below average for snowfall we will be discussing the over or under of 20 inches. Sad times, but we might as well get used to it
  2. Yeah, it seems like the only way to get snow anymore is to get lucky, thread the needle so to speak. But even then it hardly works out in our favor. Favorable patterns just end up cold/dry to warm/wet....
  3. This thing isn't even in Nam's timeframe yet....hopefully it doesn't go too far north, lol
  4. Not in my house....the 11 and 6 year old boy have made sure we are familiar with that. Wayyyy too often..... With regards to the 6th, seems like the GFS has been playing catch up on the speed of the system. Quicker it gets here, the less established the confluence is?
  5. Impressive squall line for anytime of the year and to think this is the last day of the year.....
  6. At least 6 bright flashes and really loud rolling thunder....the thunder lasts for like at least 20 seconds And it's only 40⁰....
  7. Landphoon with an eye like feature near Reading?
  8. Radarscope shows alot of hail reports to the SW of the area
  9. Impressive look to the radar south of Long Island, see if that holds together. If so, should ring in the new year with some pretty good natural fireworks...
  10. Sadly, what ever it is, CC? Any favorable looks end up being straight up cold/dry or the infamous cold/dry, warm/wet routine...We don't even get the storm as the block relaxes anymore....
  11. I remember living in Delaware during the 2009-10 season. Watching the confluence get weaker within 72 hrs to allow the precip shield to come further north on multiple events. In one event I recall it was too much and we ended up with a tainted mess instead of a snowstorm. Hopefully that is what we are doing here in SNE this time around....
  12. 0⁰ in Atlanta while the Hudson Bay region is above freezing....I guess we will be hearing the media talking about the polar vortex non stop for the coming weeks if that pans out that way.
  13. Wow, really radiated last night, 6.6⁰ currently....probably would have been below zero if we had a few more inches of snow on the ground.
  14. 0.9" of fluff...sun popping out now. Going to vaporize shortly, but beautiful right now 25.7⁰
  15. 0.5" or so, just some light to moderate falling right now, located in the far western finger of New Haven County
  16. Yup, already down to 5.4⁰....going to be close to zero by midnight at this rate
  17. Finished up with 1.6" after the light snow early this morning. Regardless of the snow, might be able to go below zero here Sunday night on a clear calm night. First time in almost 2 years. Great December for this neck of the woods, hoping WOR crowd can regain some dominance after a lack luster half decade or so...currently 27.3⁰
  18. Yup, have to say December by no means was it amazing, but a decent month, for December anyway around here....kinda felt like a winter month for a change. 7.2" so far for the month and season.
  19. Just finished snowing, had a good 2 hours of steady, light and fluffy snow. Looks like we added another half inch, so 1 inch total....maybe some more light snow toward morning, 30.4⁰ currently
  20. It was fun while it lasted, maybe 0.5"? 31.5⁰ atm Nice to see some snow at least, might be the snowiest December since I moved here, outside of a single big storm....I guess a win from that angle at least, good luck out to the east
  21. Radar trends say it stays mainly SE of my area...
  22. Coating here on cooler surfaces....hopefully this weenie band can over perform before it lifts out. I mean it did in the floods in August?
  23. Just started spitting snow here in Southbury....32.7/24 atm
  24. I routinely played 2 sports, those quickly took a back seat....what ever happened to rec sports? Practice 1x week and a game on a weekend, those were the best...
  25. Early 40s here with 4 kids, love having the big family, chaos all the time for sure. But life doesn't start getting crazy until the first 3 are all in a travel sport, at the same time.... Damp, non snowy winters are the worse...need to send those kids outside or they will destroy your house.
