It actually worked out almost perfectly today. Highest temp is right now, 42 degrees and the sun came out as it was setting. Probably 3ish inches on the north side 1ish still on the south facing areas. Now all that is left will become a glacier...

wow, yeah I just saw that....still plenty of time I guess to iron out those couple of degrees....would be nice to keep the 'pack', perfect world would be to pick up 3-5 inches, ice it before any warmup and rain

ha, never....I did go back and take a look at what it did with this current system and honestly it did pretty well 42 hrs out, temp wise at least.

Not sure how good the thermals are on that model, but from what i can see we barely get above freezing, if at all down here. Does the cold air drain down here depending on the system?

3-5 for most of CT, we take that considering our largest storm here is 4"....sad season for sure

Devil's advocate, skynet also showed a flatter pattern with the current storms and quite snowy at times. Not sure it is much better than the rest....

I mean, it is the nam so bouncing around it is its thing, so maybe there is still a chance to keep some pack around here...we are currently adding moisture to it and by tonight will be a glacier

Same thing down here, just a different a different storm, head fake gets us back in the game only this time the front end snow will weaken as we get closer and the low will strengthen and make the weather just miserable enough not to enjoy some snow and ice.

Looks like about an inch of crud before I went above freezing around 2:30, drizzle now and 32.7⁰. Lets see how much we melt today....

Just loaded the woodstove and took a look out, looks wintry out there. 30.9⁰ currently, steady light snow continues with about a half an inch so far. I honestly wasnt expecting much from this. Might be able to pull an inch before the changeover.

Just left a kids basketball game, I had to mention how the light snow is blowing sideways, best 'blizzard' we have had in years

Would be nice to have another peice of guidance, maybe from the Euro suite? Lol...maybe the 18z will run I mean the Nam being SE, beside being horrible most of the time, doesn't it tend to be to far NW/amped past 36 hrs?

Nothing to see here...we were cold, so all must be fine everywhere else, seems to be the theme going around. Bury one's head in the sand and pretend. Wonder what happens when greenland turns green and the arctic is ice free? Sorry I digress, attacks on science right now is just a bit infuriating... Back to tracking an eventual miss or rain. Lol...

I like the fact that it keeps popping up. I feel like we see these things out there in time, they disappear and never come back. Also, shove that PV further west instead of bullying everything SE. Just not too much or it will be a repeat of thus week.

The 12z Euro definitely has that look of whiff followed by another whiff as the PV gets too close....same story, different month/year

Has the precip getting over most of CT...but not sure how much of that would be virga, with all the dry air around...Definitely the southern 3rd of the state will have an annoying amount for the morning commute

Euro along with some other guidance has been pushing north for over night tonight...Euro has some banding on the northern edge. Not much, but 1-3 for areas that have 4 inches as their biggest storm this year...why not, may just nickel and dimebour way to average before all is said and done. Snow on snow is always a plus for us in lower SNE.

Yeah, unless there is wind with this...I have noticed the cold gets stuck even down here. I have no need for ice, definitely want to keep the pack, but i enjoy electricity and kids not falling everywhere

I know its the Icon, but 12z kept most of SNE in the frozen variety...something at least until the GFS/CMC/Euro rains to Maine shortly...
