  1. I thought the daytime high was somewhere in the -7 range because i remember seeing the temp gauge working on the 2 inch Ice rink. That was miserable. I also remember the foot of snow followed by another inch or two of ice the following week. I stood on top and trued to jump to break through.....and couldn't That was a crazy stretch of winter weather. Did you live up there back then?
  2. I seem to recall that Manchester hit -7 on the thermometer we had in the back yard. We had water pipes which froze under the porch that week. I remember chipping the ice away under the porch to get the door open to get to the pipes. I had to keep boiling water and dumping on the ice to melt it and the chip really quickly. That took hours. I also commuted to college in the City and that year I had 2 full weeks of class cancelled because of the weather. I think we had the week back cancelled, had classes for a week and then had the third week off.
  3. I wouldn't exactly call Ellicott City a city.....:-) More like a hamlet with an extended avenue of strip malls.
  4. I think with Wall's uncertainty that it looks like a win for the Bullets, but Westbrook is also kind of a locker room cancer. Hopefully he can get along with Beal. It should make them very competitive in the east too. Not liking the 1st round draft pick they gave up, but they are not a good drafting team, so that might not be a real issue.
  5. thx...didn't hear that. This stuff has been crazy for fantasy football too.
  6. I thought he was on the Covid list too.....
  7. This is the key.....way too many 15 yarders in the last few games they have lost.
  8. How come I am picturing Schitt's Creek now? :-)
  9. There is a house near me which puts up over 50 light up Santa statues. I'll let you know if they do it this year. Its only about 20 minutes from Frederick. :-)
  10. Odd....I quotes the first one and then typed in the box at the bottom of the thread....maybe they were linked somehow? Maybe it's a good sign?
  11. We hung out at a friend's house off of Wool Mill Road. With 4wd and in our early 20s, we were able to get around. I do rememebr the drifting back there as well.
  12. 96 was pretty good though...I remember driving down 30 past the light at 97 and almost 10 foot drifts from the wind blowing the snow across the empty fields. That was amazing.
  13. I remember pulling people out of drifts back in 93 all along Rt. 30 and Lineboro road.
  14. I remember those days. Whiffle ball was a big hit too!
  15. Sorry this happened to you and your family. I can imagine how scary that must have been for your son to experience.
  16. Is that up the Park Ave. Hill? I has a paper route growing up which I had to ride my ten speed up that hill. Fun times.
  17. that was my plan. I did it yesterday morning before i hopped online for work and probably compacted the roots. They dried up, and i put the pots in totes so I could overfill them, but it isn't really helping. Need to do a better job next year. I also took two larger Vincas in as well, but they seem to be fine. I've garage kept two palm trees over the past 3 winters and they are still thriving.
