  1. See for yourself. Still saw some chilly mornings there over the hill. Here in town, been a little cooler with the lake on the cool side. 2. Prelim data in for July. A little on the warmer side, but not too bad.
  3. Forecast for the Festival looks awesome today, and tomorrow, but showers/storms late Friday into Saturday, then cool, breezy NE winds with showers possible for Sunday. A bit of a rotten ending to it all.
  4. Two Harbors is hosting the Festival of Sails this year, aka Tall Ships. Duluth normally hosts it, but work is going on around the waterfront there. Here's a live cam.
  5. Two Harbors ends with 3.6" of precip for the month with the avg being 4.05". Avg temp was 61.6 with the normal being 64.8. So far a cooler summer with a temp avg at 59.2 (60.6), and precip lagging, but not by much, with 6.64" (8.28"). The lake has been much cooler this year. Checking Duluth so far this summer, they are right about avg. 7.91" (8.31"), and 64.5 (64.1). Pretty avg to slightly above avg summer so far for our region.
  6. After Labor day, the holiday/observance list I use has nothing else really, so I have a forecast for the Fall equinox. Front moving through with a ridge following is what it looks like to me, so expect showers/storms affecting the region as we officially transition into Fall.
  7. When I was looking into the Labor Day forecast for the Holiday thread, I took a closer look at the patterns for the next couple months. What a see-saw I'm seeing for our region.
  8. Looks like I'm going to be off by a good half day or so here. Front starts moving through the day before (23rd) into Sunday (24th).
  9. Forecast for Labor Day weekend this year looks like a rather warm, and stormy scenario with Canadian high pressure starting to make a move into the region Sunday night into Monday. Here's the Labor Day map.
  10. 89 with a dew of 75. Even with mid level stratus moving through, it pretty warm out today. Scattered storms coming later. Peaked at 90 with 77 dew not long ago.
  11. A little summer has arrived in town, again. Right now it's in the mid 80's with a 70 dew. Last nights rain that moved through helping that out.
  12. 2.52" of rain so far this month. Doing OK on that front. Temps rather subdued tho. Been a mellow summer here as far as heat goes. Looks like a change to 80's coming for next week. 2022-06-01 0.02 65 40 2022-06-02 0.00 71 41 2022-06-03 0.00 73 43 2022-06-04 0.00 68 42 2022-06-05 0.00 79 37 2022-06-06 0.00 54 41 2022-06-07 0.00 62 41 2022-06-08 0.00 66 41 2022-06-09 0.00 79 44 2022-06-10 0.00 78 45 2022-06-11 0.08 78 45 2022-06-12 0.10 58 41 2022-06-13 0.01 60 44 2022-06-14 1.31 53 45 2022-06-15 0.00 58 43 2022-06-16 0.08 63 41 2022-06-17 0.00 76 52 2022-06-18 0.00 78 47 2022-06-19 0.00 56 42 2022-06-20 0.00 58 43 2022-06-21 0.80 83 46 2022-06-22 0.00 86 47 2022-06-23 0.00 71 50 2022-06-24 0.04 78 52 2022-06-25 0.48 71 46 2022-06-26 0.01 78 49 2022-06-27 0.00 69 46 2022-06-28 0.00 68 47 2022-06-29 0.00 73 44 2022-06-30 0.11 62 44 2022-07-01 0.00 87 50 2022-07-02 0.00 79 49 2022-07-03 0.00 69 45 2022-07-04 1.18 63 46 2022-07-05 0.46 54 44 2022-07-06 0.00 59 43 2022-07-07 0.00 60 44 2022-07-08 0.00 77 51 2022-07-09 0.00 66 46 2022-07-10 0.00 65 47 2022-07-11 0.14 76 48 2022-07-12 0.22 70 53 2022-07-13 0.52 80 46
  13. Prelim data in. Chalk up another warm June.
  14. Cool, wet Fourth. Been a while since we have had a July 4 so soggy and cool.
  15. Decent call for this holiday weekend. My map is probably a better depiction of Saturday into Sunday's set up.
  16. Cooler weather for the most part to start off the first part of the month up this way. Rains have not been an issue here, doing just fine.
  17. Mid 80's here today with low dews on a gusty W/SW wind. Feels real nice. But it looks like 70's after today for a few days. Even some upper 60's here in town with some of that lake wind forecast. Upper 70's is the norm max temp this time of year. June precip norm is 4.23", and we ended up at 3.02". For YTD the norm is 13.89", and we are at 15.57". So we are doing ok here. Temp average for the YTD is 34.5F, and we stand at 29.9F, which reflects how cold the start of the year was into the spring.
  18. Looks like the gov models are starting to lock in to something similar to what I forecast, but 1 week to go, so we shall see. Hope ev1 enjoys the weekend coming up with whatever plans you may have.
  19. After yesterday, today is beautiful. 70's with low dews. A little chilly in the morning, but this I like.
  20. Windy, cool day with highs in the mid 60's. Scattered showers moving through. Glad to see some of you down there finally got some precip.
  21. Another 1/2" of rain last night with a nice lightning show. 2.92" so far with 4.23" the norm for the month. More rain chances forecast for the rest of month, so might end near normal. Looks like a little needed rain in the southern sub today.
  22. Looks like 50-60 mph gusts, and up to 1.5" hail with these cells. Not moving to fast, either.
  23. Cells popped around here. Under Svr stm watch. Some warned cells. Pretty good hail sigs in there.
  24. My daughter asked me for a forecast for my grandson's B-day party, and in looking at that with my other Holiday casts, July doesn't look that hot on a consistent basis. But August may be the opposite. Has a hotter feel to it. I correctly forecast her wedding in May, and for the wet Memorial weekend, so she is really looking to me for this other stuff now. Hope I don't screw up too bad
  25. Yesterday at Duluth, smashed the daily record. 2022 94 1 1995 88 2 1988 87 3 1941 85 4 1933 84 5 Hibbing squeaked one out too. 2022 93 1 1995 92 2 1988 88 3 1989 87 4 1987 84 5 For the 19th, top 5 heat away from the lake. I-Falls had top 5 heat yesterday, as well.
