  1. Wtf even northern Maine is all rain on the upcoming storm.
  2. What a sad state of affairs. Just looked at the 06Z...
  3. Strolling past with a bit of a side eye because I've been made fun of a thousand times over the years....but I'll assume you're legit... Giant silkmoths are an indicator species. They require uninterrupted forests in the case of some species like Lunas and regalis or imperialis.. There's a certain level of "wildness" you can hope to achieve when trying to hunt for cocoons or caterpillars of each species. If you have a healthy number of wild silkmoths then that means your local wild acreage is mature. There are few things in my life that give me such joy as thinking back to my childhood as I hunted for cocoons along the side of the expressway or local highways. It taught me all about botany and conservation. In the middle of winter, with snow on the ground, there's a really significant feeling of the wild as you hunt for cocoons under the sound of great horned owls and their mating calls. You either get it or you don't.
  4. Preach on sister. You're 100% right. Depression is a crafty beast in convincing you that life sucks, has always sucked, and will never get any better. I was actually an IFBB professional bodybuilder and at my worst I couldn't convince myself that I was strong enough to put my socks on at one point. Luckily those days are over and I won't fall prey to that shit again. In any case, if I'm reading you correctly it sounds like you managed your way through it so I'm super proud of you. Lord knows it's a demon to try and deal with.
  5. You know, for me all antidepressants cure my depressive feelings after 2-3 doses. Life is cool, but they all (except mirtazapine, sigh) put the gas on my anxiety. Feeling depressed? Ok, take AD XYZ...depression gone within 2-3 doses. But feel the anxiety, like 25 cups of coffee. And the longer you take it, the worse it gets. It wouldn't be so bad but when you're amped up on anxiety you can't sleep. Which means your depression and anxiety are all the worse. It is what it is, I'm always hoping the next AD will be the magic elixir but that's typically not the case. Fucking mirtazapine. It's a miracle drug but for God knows whatever reason after 2-3 days it causes my joints to swell up and my skin to start burning. So it goes. Its amazing how many ppl are suffering the same problems but they to hide it. I actually started a support group at work for anxiety and insomnia. It was amazing how many coworkers came out of the woodwork to join and commiserate. Like you implied, it's a shame how much stigma is attached to it.
  6. I agree 100%. Alas those who haven't experienced the suck of depression or anxiety don't really understand. For most of my adult life I was one of those guys. Depressed? Just think positive thoughts! Then in 2018 it came for me and my whole life turned inside out. It was very humbling and definitely changed the course of my life. The worst part was the insomnia. My wife went through a very acute depressive phase during COVID and she was sleeping like 16hrs a day. I was jealous because as bad as depression is, at least if you could sleep then you could hide from your feelings during that time. Apparently I'm an anxious depressive so I don't get to sleep. In any case, sorry to vent but life is a lot better now. My wife is 100% in remission and I'm 50% in remission. In hindsight it was a very humbling experience and I'm a lot more understanding and patient that I was 15yrs ago. I guess that's part of getting older.
  7. I've been rearing them since I was 7yo, or about 35yrs. Not sure I can answer why. It's like trying to catch the biggest fish or raise the perfect cow ...you're always trying to raise the largest caterpillar. I also sell ova online which...why not really impacting my financial situation, makes a lot of people (mostly teachers) happy because regalis and imperialis are very common in the MA but much sought after in the rest of the country. And btw, these are about twice the size of some candy ass manduca sexta you buy at the pet store.
  8. Haha! Holy cow I'm supposed to start Lexapro as of today. I've tried about 15 ADs so far and they all work awesome for depression within a day or two of starting them...but unfortunately they all are like applying the gas pedal for anxiety so it's a nightmare ...which leads to worse insomnia which leads to worse anxiety and depression...which leads to insomnia and so on. But I've made quite a few life changes over the past 12mo and I'm started to sleep better which seems to be improving depression. Ah well, we'll see. Amazing how many people are dealing with this shit when you really start asking.
  9. This pic is famous amongst the "moth community". I've been doing this shit for 35yrs, I know how to raise them thicc.
  10. Thanks bruh. At my worst I would get a panic attack just lying back on my couch because apparently my amygdala was afraid that I might possibly fall asleep. Luckily those days are in the past. CBTi and SRT for the win. It was a very humbling experience for me. When your mind fails you it totally upends your life, right?
  11. Thanks. I'm sure there are a fair number of members on here in the same predicament. But it's one of those.things society doesn't like to talk about. So anyway...on to the next model run!
  12. Someone who has lived depression, anxiety and insomnia to the 37th power.
  13. Mirtazapine is a godsend for insomniacs. Unfortunately for me, I'm allergic to it.
  14. Anybody need any relationship advice? We can do pillow talk until the 18Z if necessary.
  15. Mirtazapine? Trazadone? Quetiapine for the cheap seats in the back?
  16. Unlike some members here I don't have a sunburnt penis as an avatar. But I assure you my caterpillars won't disappoint.
  17. Lmao, well played. Your intellect impresses me. If you're ever in SoMD let me know and I'll be happy to cook you some Wagyu. And show you my giant caterpillars.
  18. Gram negative or gram positive. We got whatever you need.
  19. I got you, brother. It's been a rough winter. We just gotta press through til April and enjoy the spring and the inevitable SER all summer long. That said, if you ever find yourself wide awake at 2am, full of anxiety over the upcoming 06Z model runs, just let me know. Dr. IronTy has the antidote you need.
  20. Just finished leg day and a nice protein shake. I recommend dayvigo if you're too tired, oerexin inhibitors ftw. Going to meadow mountain this weekend, I gotta bulk up to make sure the G can make it up the mountain.
