    It's worse than that. We're in this stupid middle period where it's too warm to snow but still too cold to enjoy the benefits of a proper subtropical climate. If this is it then fuck it, give me SE gulf coast weather with year round green live oaks, anoles and pythons. I want to see zebra longwings flying around. Instead we get the rare subfreezing lows that are just enough to spoil the party along with shitty 40 degree days.

    It seems a possible good compromise is being able to discuss a warming world (the fact that it's warming really isn't in question and there's empirical date that shows it) and what it's impacts are on our weather. What could be banned would be the whole "humans are causing it" debate which seems to be where politics comes in and things go off the rails. But I'm not a mod so it's easy for me to say since I don't do any administrative work on the forum. Maybe it would end up a disaster.

    DST can't get here soon enough. At least we can track the increasing sun angle and that won't let us down. Even the GFS could predict that right (maybe?).

    I ordered a new cold frame for my garden that should arrive today. Clearly winter is a lost cause this year so at least I might as well start growing lettuce. Maybe that'll be enough to turn the tides and usher in record cold and snow.
