    Yeah give me jungle nights heat and humidity over this cold and windy crap. I'm good for cold from Christmas to Valentine's Day but after that I'm bored of the winter here.

    Man all the BN anomalies in the northern hemisphere are definitely over Canada and the NE US. Looking at the euro it's encouraging to see them get scrubbed out in the LR. I'm tired of this shit.

    The bay helped us out yesterday and we didn't get that hot. Today it sucks.

    I hope we're done with single digits out there. Looks like about 1" of snow overnight too.

    Trees aren't an issue for me as it's a rowhome right downtown. But you're probably on to something regarding snowcover. Last year and this year saw significant stretches of snow on the panels so that probably explains the drop vs. 22/23.

    Both of my game cams reported 8F at 7am in bittinger. 3k ft.

    Very interesting. I didn't think to look at the system output for our rooftop in DC. Either the weather is getting shittier every year since 2022, the sun is dying, or my panels are aging.

    Why is this winter so terrible? I'm so tired of cold and gray. Are there any stats showing that the last 6mo have been cloudier than usual?

    No damage from any wind last night at my house but first thing this morning I heard chainsaws and on the way to work noticed that two houses on my street had large 100ft tulip trees down across their driveways. Luckily they didn't appear to hit any cars or houses.

    Looks like that heat pump creates its own cold air.

    It's settled down here so I guess I'm in the clear. Ironic since breezy point had a tornado a few years ago - a ton of trees were destroyed and a lot of house damage. Hopefully this wasn't a repeat.

    That's what the warning said. Looking at the radar it seems like it would be out over the bay now but I'm gonna hang in the basement a bit longer because it's very windy out. Sounds like a train.

    This is why I hate severe weather. Sounds like it might be just NE of me but it's crazy windy out. It's all fun and games until it comes for your house.

    One thing I will take serious because we actually do well at it around here so I'm not expecting a fail - cold and windy. I'm gonna get my wood stove going now so it's ahead of the curve.

    Kids probably all got a severe weather trophy to go along with it as well.

    I got an idea. If you're excited about severe weather then maybe don't start a thread about a discrete threat. We all know that's the fastest way to deep-six a snowstorm, no reason severe should be any different.

    When I was at elementary back in Michigan we had a legit Tornado warning and we all had to go out in the hallways cowering with our textbooks over our head/neck. Nobody died or anything, can't remember if there were any injuries....but 40yrs later it's probably the only memory I have from school that far back. So look at the bright side, making memories.

    We've lost Internet at my house in Calvert. Pummeled.

    According to my sister in Charlotte they have already canceled schools tomorrow down there for the possible storms . What?

    Drove through Prince Frederick on my way home from work and the temp read 83F on my car. Five miles east at my house it was 67F. Cold water.
