    Deep winter up st DCL. I hope this doesn't get me kicked off the forums but I'm sick of this winter. I'm so over the cold dry wind. I'm doing my annual preseason reading of all my moth books and it has me looking forward to April.

    Unfortunately I'm going to miss out on it as I will be down here in Calvert. I hope they don't lose power up there and all my pipes freeze, that would suck. During that epic campout in the middle of the night my wife had to go to the bathroom and somehow the dog escaped the tent and I thought for sure he was a goner in the storm and froze to death. Found him shivering next to the truck. Was a stressful ten minutes for sure.

    I think it was -23F on the air temp and -42F on the wind chill? Interior of the tent was below zero but I can't remember how cold.

    WTF? Radar actually looked like a lock over Calvert last night when I turned out the lights, the precip was almost over us. Woke up this morning...nothing. This thread sucks.

    I'm ready for a thaw. Spent the weekend at the house in DC and it's a nightmare on the streets. Parking is impossible, walking is a PITA, it's freaking cold too. Worst of all for some reason all the dog owners seem to have decided that the snow is an excuse not to clean up their dog shit. It's all over everything. I hope the patties all dry out before the snow melts because otherwise it's gonna be a smelly, messy situation.

    I've got a good feeling about this storm.

    My winter storms books mention that we often score when the NAO relaxes to a less negative state. If we're gonna get a big one this year I think it'll be just as this cold pattern is getting ready to flip and then we get our storm followed by warm temps.

    I feel like with this storm I could go to bed and wake up the next morning wth either no snow or 10" of snow. Technology has failed us.
