Flash Flood Watch for the DC/Balt corridor -
91 so far at IAD, DCA river winding at 88

I think Duran is the de facto closer, but the rest of the bullpen is so sketchy that he often needs to go more than one inning, making him out of pocket for the next game. Or he has to be the fireman in the 7th, pitch the 8th, and then we need someone to not give up 2-3 runs in the 9th/10th.
-
Pagan wasn’t going to pitch, so there was a chance! They have to help the bullpen at the trade deadline.

Sorry, Os fans, the Twins needed that one after blowing 4 late leads to Cleveland in the last two weeks.

Summer max contest -- final results posted

DCA hasn't hit 100 since 2016, so this isn't too aggressive of a call. -
2004 also, going back a bit further.

That trio of summers were disgusting. The persistence of 2010, the humidity of 2011, and the big heat days of 2012. 2016 was plenty bad though. Average summer temp was higher than 2012 and it also featured 100 degree days.

Happy Derecho Day! I’ll take this opportunity for the millionth time to mention that I missed it and hate you all.

That’s my neighborhood. I will never let my brother forget that he dragged me out of town for his wedding and made me miss one of the great weather events. Had to patch a baseball sized hole in my roof from a branch when I got back. That said, there was more destruction as far as houses hit by trees in last August’s microburst close to me.

I assume Burke Lake Rd is still underwater

We are going to miss these HRRR vs NAM battles when they unify them in the future. I’m on team HRRR today. -
I know expectations have shifted, but we are above normal at all three airports for June and just came off of a tie for the highest temperature at DCA since 2016.

Such an odd setup with the easterly flow off the Atlantic ruining the I95 chances. -
At the risk of enduring the wrath of the mid-Atlantic crew, my yard really dried out over the past week. Doesn’t ever seem to matter how wet it was early, once it dries out it is really noticeable. 1.41” in June.
