  1. Coldest morning this morning, and first 20s of the season. Down to 29. Maybe we get a little dusting of snow before the warmer air comes in. Ron Smiley said a few hours of snow in the afternoon. Granted, it's not at a great time of day for accumulation this early in the season, but at least there could be a small chance.
  2. So, the answer is yes, cause we know there's no 15" of snow coming.
  3. So, is it looking like we're going to waste this cold period?
  4. Some positive predictions for winter. WPXI Winter Forecast WTAE Winter Forecast
  5. Looks like we'll end October with 15 nights that dropped below 40, and 22 days that were below average. I am assuming today will match neither of those stats.
  6. I thought the same when I saw those lows forecast last week. They were getting low, and we have sunk lower than forecast in lows this month, so I thought...maybe.
  7. Yeah, it was a long shot, but still one of the coldest max temps for October ever.
  8. I assume we're in the 17%? That may change in the coming week, with so few rain chances.
  9. Seems they've been forecasting too high lately with high temperatures. I'm sure we'll hit 70 a couple times, but I think it'll still stay below average overall.
  10. Ridiculous, but Macon, GA gets down to 29. Topsy Turvy.
  11. Can't understand how we fail every time. Dew points are mid 20s, but these clouds always seem to somehow pop up over the reporting station. No reason we shouldn't have gotten down to 28, in my opinion. Oh well, will still be a below average month overall.
  12. So, the Gulf Coast will get freeze warnings before us?
  13. Yeah, that seems high area wide. For not having any temps below freezing yet, you'd need a decent snow rate to get anything on the ground at this point.
  14. Yeah, that's what works for us here. We'll see. I would be kind of surprised if 71 is the highest we get. I'm also surprised that in all recorded weather history here there never has been an October that hasn't hit at least 72.
  15. An interesting thing could happen this month. Unlikely, as it has literally never happened before, but we've hit 71 twice this month. So far, that is our highest temperature, there's a cool period coming that will send us into late October. Could we see 71 as our highest temperature of the month? If we do that would be the lowest maximum temperature in October ever. So, it is unlikely, but the pattern is holding pretty firm. The 84 high in September is the lowest in that month since 2009. So, some interesting streaks there.
  16. Surprisingly the coldest morning so far. Dropped to 35, was forecasted for around 40.
  17. Temp dropped 9 degrees in the last hour. Front must be through.
