    Looks like the highest heat index we ever reached was 114 degrees, and that was July 15, 1995...the last time we hit 100. Conversely the lowest wind chill of all time was -47 degrees in January 1985, lol.

    Any sources for heat indices in Pittsburgh? I've looked but can't seem to find historical data. It'd be interesting to know how hot it's felt here in the past. I'm particularly interested in know heat indices during the 2012 heat wave.

    Oddly, I feel like KPIT's is too low, lol.

    HRRR may end up kind of close. My weather app shows downtown at 95 right now. 93 at the airport.

    Heat Index of 99 also, maybe should have had a heat advisory, as it may still reach that 100 mark. Edit: in an off hour it hit 92. Tied for the warmest day so far. Also, a wild gradient is set up. 90s here, and 68 in Philly. Not something you see everyday.

    1pm temp is 88. 4 degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. Barring any storms, we should make it to 90.

    It was throwing that out earlier too. If storms hold off or form further east, we could see some pretty high temperatures.

    Thought the same thing. I could take this weather all summer.

    HRRR has us in the low 90s today, and around 95 tomorrow. NAM 3km has us upper 80s today and about 90 tomorrow. We will see.

    Yeah, that is good news. Would we like it to cool down quicker, sure, but I'd rather there be less damage and stay hot, than be comfortable and damage be crazy. That 74 degree may hold on through midnight.

    I wonder if being on the western and southern edge of the enhanced risk gives us a chance to escape the worst of the storms and they blow up to our east?

    I'd be shocked if it did. 84 for the 10am temp. Hot.

    If we weren't going to see an increase in clouds in the afternoon we could have been on our way to 95 today. It's already 80, just crazy.

    Definitely having these temps and a dew point peaking at 76 feel very Florida like today.

    Or 33 and rain when snows just 25 miles away, gimme that 93 and humid, lol.

    1pm temperature is 88 dew point 76, 99 heat index. Crazy. I do have a question, though. The humidity is crazy high, and usually very humid days can cap temperatures here below 90. Looks like we'll make it to at least 90 today. Why would we be able to get to 90 with such high humidity today, is it just that the airmass is such a hot one? I imagine with lower humidity we'd probably easily see 95 today.

    My weather app center on KPIT jumped to 85 with a 74 dew point. Not to jinx it but we may be on track for our first 90+ of the year.

    Temp officially up to 80 with a 73 dew point. Crazy.

    That's going to be some nasty humidity.

    NAM 3km has us at about 88 for tomorrow. I'm starting to think that's about where we'll end up. But they get us to the 90s Thursday. NAM 12K has us in the 90s both days.

    Either way, still hot. That makes sense though too.

    Today mid 80s look to be a struggle. Clouds are hanging pretty tough.
