    Canaan is weird. It was apparently almost as cold there as somewhere in the rockies. (Can’t remember where, wasn’t paying attention in class)

    67° in Blacksburg after some rain earlier, really nice to have some cool weather. Also just finished Skywarn so that’s cool.

    Similar story here. My side of town has 1”-1.5” and downtown has 5.5”

    Missed the heaviest rain in blacksburg, but down near the stadium has had 4” or more and flooding occurred. Guessing I have half that despite being only a mile and a half away. Also: poor planning for the game.

    Apparently Richmond got some good wind? All I got in blacksburg was some big raindrops before met club. More rain on the way though!

    Does anyone know what’s going on with that super warm blob in the TT Sea Surface Temperature map in the North Atlantic view? Underwater volcano or something?

    We touched on it in class, but I forgot to ask, does corn sweat actually change the storms in the area in any meaningful way?

    I admit, I didn’t look at the NAM too closely after your original post. I wasn’t sure if there was some bias/bug thing the 3k NAM does sometimes. If the numbers it was showing verified somewhere, then cool! I haven’t been looking at weather stuff much at all except for in class when we look at the models and stuff.

    I got absolutely soaked on the way to weather analysis, and was super cold. Fun seeing how all the moisture came from the gulf in that round pattern.

    It’s so nice to go to class to just… look at weather models and talk about weather.

    Think it got to 55 or so in Blacksburg, wasn't paying attention. It was chilly early last night though!

    I don’t think the two really compare that much. There might be elements of this that are truly once in a lifetime. Perhaps not wind, but rainfall as you mentioned.

    Interesting looking storm approaching me down here near Richmond. Perhaps it will bring some rain. Edit: Got a quick soak and some breeze. Storms feel more intense when you’re surrounded by trees

    Seems like it’s the usual pattern recently with the NC stuff, and the little bit of northern-ish VA stuff leaving a gap around richmond. I’ll wait a bit longer to be sure though.

    Wind is blasting now with rain. Creek has white caps! Much better than the enhanced the other day. 27ish gusts
