  1. Kinda resembles my brain activity for today. Active, yet perspective given the scale.
  2. That's what my SIL's yard looks like in Portsmouth, RI where I was for Christmas. Her lawn is still growing. I actually enjoyed a cocktail in the sun in the upper 50's. It looked and felt like an early April Easter. That, combined with the recent deluge up north got me thinking how this winter has been a total freaking disaster, especially with nothing to track on the horizon. Sunsets are later, days are getting longer. The freaking ground up at my cabin is not only bare, but not even frozen. Sorry, had to get it out before I took it out on my dog.
  3. Feel like I'm out west with these chips. The bag is as firm as my 28.97
  4. Waterville issued a "save the snow" day being closed today. They probably couldn't open the lifts anyway due to wind. I wouldn't be surprised if other mountains are closed today as well. They should be able to fire up the guns tomorrow night and nearly run them continuous through the rest of the week. Not like I can ski much anyway. I got the Ikon and Waterville Value pass and I think they're both invalid starting Saturday through the end of the year.
  5. WMUR lead off with video from the dam down the end of my street. Somewhat surprised as I've only recorded 2.6" in the bucket. https://www.wmur.com/article/campton-new-hampshire-flooding-dam/46165067#
  6. I believe it. Was at Santa's Village last night. Huge aggregates and the lights made for a festive evening. There was about 2" on the ground when we left around 6 or so. Back here in Thornton there was about 1/2" on the ground, but temp was 33.4, so it wasn't really accumulating. Got 3" since then, but Waterville is reporting 7" at base and 8" up top. Heading out now.
  7. Heading up north for the weekend. The plan is to take the kids (nieces and nephews) to Santa's Village Sunday afternoon, and leave Monday. But it's looking like there's potential for 6" ovenight Sunday, so maybe a few runs in the AM.
  8. I agree. It used to drive me nuts Waterville didn't do it as well, but they now have live cams at the top and at the base, so it's nice to see what's happening with weather, snow making, if the lifts are running, whether it's too crowded. Crowded lines rarely happened in the past, but not sure if it's Waterville's recent improvements, or the ski industry as a whole, but I've been seeing some pretty busy Saturdays, and some times I just hold off.
  9. It was nice to get back out onto the mountain on Sunday at WV. The conditions were surprisingly good. Only one icy section of one trail (I should have gotten a quick tune). If you count the few turns I got in at MWN in October, I've skied every month so far this year, woohoo.
  10. It flipped to rain pretty much right after it started. An overall net loss below about 1500'. I see new snow above about 2500' on the hilltops across the valley (Welsh-Dickey).
  11. I stuck around for this one. We'll find out soon. It does look juicy. I'm not expecting much. I think you'll do better than me. Maybe a sloppy inch or two here, but I'm really thinking the goods will be above about 2500'.
  12. I thought this was a weather forum, but I'll take the bait. If my brother was missing for over a month and I suspected he might be in a well, I'd prolly check it myself. I can only imagine the stench. Also something weird about the brother. At a minimum he seems to be $#itfaced in the interview. Something more to that story. 35.4/24.0, might start as snow, we'll see.
  13. The Wildcat webcams show it still dumping. I think today is their opening day.
  14. Looks like it flipped to rain at cabin. Hard to tell how much from webcam, but maybe 5 or 6". We actually dropped down to 33.8F in Lowell and there was about 1/4" accumulation on cars, grass, but that obviously melted by this AM.
  15. It flipped over to mainly snow, but I've probably bottomed out at 34.9ZF
  16. 37.8/32.6 If I squint hard enough, I can see cat paws on the car windshields.
  17. Snowing nicely up north 29.6/26.0, but just rain here in Lowell 38.5/31.5.
  18. First flakes at cabin, but up to 38.7 in Lowell. Gonna have to count on evaporational cooling here. Not sure why I left there this morning. All I had was a stupid zoom meeting.
  19. At 35/28, wouldn't you expect to start as snow, or at least sleet? I'm at 36.3/26.0 and expect to see a couple mangled flakes even though it looks like some southeast flow at lower elevations (I'm guessing) on radar. 31.3/21.0 up north. Hoping we can squeeze out half a foot up there.
  20. Did WKevin ever start up snow totals for this season?
  21. I was surprised to see Waterville keep them running all night. Even now in what I assume are marginal conditions. There looks to be a warm layer around 3500-4000' Looks like we picked up about an inch. Still below 30F @ 1100'
  22. It seems like a lot of the larger resorts are cranking up the guns. Killington and WV started Monday night. I know Bretton Woods and Cannon were blowing snow yesterday. Last night Sunday River started snowmaking on Jordan Bowl. It's been snowing at Killington, but not sure if that's a good thing. I think the higher dews doesn't help, but temps are still in the mid 20's. I'm sure they'll be open by Friday, but does someone else open tomorrow afternoon to take the title to be the first to open? I'm not including that pile of snow Ward created.
  23. I wish! I just don't ever see that happening since it's run by the State.
