  1. I'm confused. Is that palm dewd? if it is, gotta admire him entertaining us during this zzzz winter.
  2. Different strokes. Josh always keeps his expectations low which is smart if you're a big dog fan in metro detroit. I've learned we can't do anything about it so it's useless to get all bent outta shape when we have a winter like this current one. Ya got 3 months and to expect to cash in a legit storm more than once or twice is unrealistic expectations.
  3. Pretty incredible to see 80s reached today in and around DC. Dont usually see the SE ridge flexing in El nino.
  4. Pretty excited for deformation band rain in the dead of winter. Gross
  5. I got a flight out at 7am, good chance its canceled? Also do they have to de-ice a plane if it sits more than an hour between landing and taking off for the next flight?
  6. I'm sorry you got a Ghd scar too. Tbh after getting screwed with the first one, I forget the details on the ghd2/3, locally and other areas. It's good to see things kinda even out. Ex:Minneapolis
  7. 2 inches yesterday and nice 3 fluffy inches overnight with heavy snow now. Cool to see the rare heavy bands roll in from the NE, vortices no less. Easy 2 inches per hour with the ratios.
  8. Yea im getting tired of seeing dark greens on the qc radar.
  9. Aided by lake effect I'd assume? Or was it mostly system snow?
  10. Jackpot toledo. With these ratios, wouldn't be surprised to see someone stack a half a foot in the band.
  11. So its gonna be dry all week while we have legit cold air in place, then it warms up, gets active and get rained on.
  12. Its funny, more often than not when dtx issues a wwa, we overachieve and underachieve when they are bullish with wsw. But yea its a legit blizzard out. I always gotta remind myself to enjoy it because it may be the only event we get this winter.
  13. Yea saw some lightning a few times. I was expecting more rain here on east side but its been all snow and been coming down for 4 hours now. Nothing significant but definitly a pleasant surprise.
  14. It's been a minute since I've been on the east side of a low and still have dynamic cooling take over. Temp dropped 6 degrees past 2 hours.
  15. Definitely 2 inch per hour band. Doesn't get much better locally as far as rates go. If only it could stick around for a few more hours.
  16. Definitely a bummer to have back to back respectable storms and have to worry about cold air/accumulation. I'd rather have warm and dry like December. Congrats to those in the nw sub though.
  17. Yea the short range models have been consistent in showing a decent band from dtw up through troy/Pontiac all day.
  18. From a friend in troy, 10 miles west, it's heavy and sticking there.
  19. Yea one minute it's heavy snow, next its rain. Always riding that line here on the east side it seems.
  20. Looks like multiple low pressures, one in se Ohio, which I don't think was modeled. Helluva dry slot coming north. White rain to start here and just flipped to snow in central macomb. Not gonna accumulate much with temps at 37. Just a little too far east to get the goods. Good luck to the rest. Central Oakland looks like a good place to be on the latest rap.
  21. I'm afraid sleet will mix in but about 50 miles west towards Pontiac into Oakland county may jackpot. Definitely the heaviest snow we get around here as far as rates go.
  22. Looking at reports from last storm and the radar now, that area probably will have over a foot of snow depth.
  23. I think because a new lop is popping further east is giving the models fits. Most storms come down to nowcasting when it comes to banding but this event especially.
  24. Rap/hhr with an inch plus of precip in 6 hours at dtw up towards east side of metro area. Hoping to see some awesome rate and not pingers.
