  1. Once the sun came out, today feels the hottest and most uncomfortable of the week. Must be more humidity today than the past few days.
  2. I was at stoney creek when the first storm popped north of us. I hopped on my bike and made it home a lil bit ago just beating the rain. While I enjoy the heat, this Florida everyday rain around 3pm is annoying. I'm ready to go back to 75 and low humidity.
  3. Easily gonna have 3+ inches when it's all said and done here. Central macomb has been the bullseye for heavy rain events lately.
  4. I have been riding my bike every morning 10-12, and with the cloud cover, yesterday and today didn't feel bad at all. Of course the sun peeked out towards the end and man what a difference, went from what felt like 80 to 90+.
  5. True but the heat waves I do remember have stayed dry with low humidity. This time around the dew point looks to be higher with a chance of rain.
  6. 6 days in a row in the mid 90's north of detroit. Don't recall the last time we've had this long of a stretch, albeit my memory is terrible.
  7. We got to be close to some may records for rainfall, atleast up here in macomb. We've had atleast 5 days this month where atleast an inch of rain fell.
  8. Had 1.5 inches yest and easily over 2 with storm parked overhead motionless. Houses along clinton river gonna have serious issues.
  9. Don't be that guy who doesn't wave or acknowledge someone that let's you into traffic.
  10. It's weird, it stopped raining, yet the radar shows the storm stationary and reds/pinks overhead and back building like you said.
  11. Pretty legit warned storm slowly rolling through. Oddly enough no sirens, as I thought they sounded them for any warned storm around here. Usually severe storms around here are part of a derecho rolling through quickly but this puppy is crawling at 10 mph. Counted atleast 10 cloud to ground strikes pretty much within a half mile. Winds testing my newly installed vinyl fence....
  12. My friend on sanibel island texted me last night and said it was pretty cool. Pretty unusual for them. I remember someone in texas reported seeing them around the millennium.
  13. It always amazes me the streaks we go on as far as precipitation or lack thereof. It seems like its rained almost every other day the past month, while other years we can go 20+ days without rain.
  14. I follow bob menery on IG. Guys an attention whore but hes hanging out with reed timmer and got some great videos. https://www.instagram.com/stories/bobmenery/3354952961974846201?igsh=NjMwdGltenFnOHI0
  15. Curious if they are gonna postpone the twins/tigs game tonight. Nowadays these players are wusses.
  16. The rain here has never been more than just showers. Perhaps overnight some banding setup that helped catch up on what the models were showing. Some had 2+ so doubt we'll even come close to that. Ready for some sun and warmth tomorrow for the tigers doubleheader.
  17. Yea I noticed their first qpf graphic had spotty yellow amounts, then they got rid of it, then doubled down and went back to it for the whole area lol. I guess I can't say they are being lazy this go around as they normally are with their graphic forecasts.
  18. Yea just most of the heavier bands have stayed west and sw. Now they are to the east lol.
  19. Yesterday pm runs of Models had 1.5-2 inches here. I doubt we've had more than .2. If this were a winter system, I'd be pissed lol. Donut hole overhead.
  20. Here in central macomb, the thin line of clouds is almost overhead but isn't hindering the view of the eclipse, almost totality here. Pretty neat and eerie.
  21. Looks like southern/central macomb over to Oakland have done well and the band has been parked over them for awhile and still is.
  22. There's been a band that's been stationary north of dtw for hours. Someone will see 3-5. Of course I'm out of town for it. Pouring down here in florida, 3-6 inches of rain expected today.
  23. Pretty sure it's just a discussion to clarify things, rather than bickering. For those that aren't as educated in severe weather like myself, we appreciate all posts and know it's a difficult science to explain fully.
  24. Definitly flipped compared to recent winters. I was gonna head down to florida this weekend for the month of March but might stick around a few extra days since it looks to be in the 60s through the weekend.
  25. Without diving into the stats, with how snowy/cold febs have been here recently, and the thaws in January recently, you'd never guess we've never hit 70 in january. Looks like Detroit hit 72. Pretty incredible to break the all time feb high. Obviously alot of factors to take into account when trying to figure out why we're seeing warmer temps in winter recently. You almost have to expect some historic snowstorm in a few weeks, when everyone just starts to get used to the continued 50s/60s.
