First time in months it has rained 3 days in a row! Approaching 1.25 precious inches.

I should have said based on current modeling. It is a dangerous storm. Also there will still be rip currents moving in at some point.

WB 12Z EPS, pretty tight consensus through Day 5 north of PR (Sunday), then the individual members start to diverge thru early next week...but still show most members well east of US mainland.

At least after the spring barrier, the summer haze, and now the fall fog of forecasting, we are still looking better than last year at this time. Time flies, and we soon will be complaining about the winter failures, the warm base state, etc. in a blink of the eye. Hopefully somewhere in this upcoming winter season there will be at least one storm that will bring joy for everyone.

Tracking snowfall in the Northern Hemisphere again....looks like a good forecasted start in the cold source regions. WB latest EURO weeklies.

WB 18Z GEFS.... pretty depressing, the NW dry zone continues for another 7 days, hoping for a northward trend in the Gulf system.

I went back and looked at JB's 2022 prelim. Winter. He had normal temps and above normal snowfall for mid Atlantic.

WB (JB) first look winter forecast is for above normal snowfall and below normal temps. Mid-January onward forecasted to be the best winter period. Forecast contingent on Modoki El Nino look. August EURO and Canadian long range forecasts support this evolution. November JMA also appears to be evolving this way. Like winter, Commanders always look good in August too. There is a severe thunderstorm watch for western counties until 2am. I would note that the latest HRRR continues to underinitialize the line of storms. Hope it holds together, need the rain..
