    Beautiful morning….cut my lawn…best it has looked in my entire lifetime in DMV in mid August timeframe: dark green and thick, pretty amazing. Almost over the intense sun season hump. Actually set my landscape lights back 15 minutes to 8:30 last night.

    Don’t despair, on my walk back to Union Station in DC, there are acorns all over the place blown off the trees from last night’s storm. The acorns are plentiful and large which scientifically means it will be a cold and snowy winter….bank on it! or perhaps the La Niña signal won’t mean a hill of beans this year, so far the hurricane forecasts based off of that signal are a bust… And before I am attacked by Professor Eyor and others I am partially kidding….

    At least 3.25 inches since August 1 in Brunswick.

    Winding down here about 1.5 in Brunswick in less than a half hour. Power briefly went out but everything is back up….including the sun. My gut is worried that we could be setting ourselves up for a major flooding event if the tropics get their act together as many are prognosticating.

    Light rain. Home from the ocean after 2 weeks….anecdotally can say that this is one of those rare summers that when I returned my lawn is still green…normally my lawn looks like straw by now with no watering.

    WB 0Z tropics still look quiet and dusty the next 10 days.

    Not sure of the air temperature but the sand in OC feels like 120…

    WB 0Z GFS and EURO near 100 on Sunday. Good thing I will be at the beach….

    WB 12Z EURO still pretty quiet next 10 days. Ensemble shows few members with low pressure off the SE coast at end first week of August.

    WB 0Z EPS next 15 days looks like summer like heat finally on its way for a stretch of time. Showers will continue but no tropical storms yet…. Perfect beach/pool weather!!!!

    Only about .15 in Brunswick but light rain/drizzle makes it a perfect lawn day. Still green going into the second week of July. And yes, although hardly noticeable yet, we are now starting to lose some daylight at sunset…
