  1. Is that what you had been touting all along? ( that would be a good thing FYI ) ;-)
  2. Very interesting read. Wonder what this what bring us back to as far as the Winters go here n the US? https://interestingengineering.com/science/scientists-want-to-spray-sulphur-dioxide-into-the-atmosphere-to-refreeze-the-poles
  3. I disagree. I feel the local forecasters are definitely needed and add more detailed forecasting options that you can't get from the computer models.
  4. Ahhh... It starts already!!! Each new Winter season/ discussion brings back the same ole friction/caddyness!! Lololol
  5. So.. Farmers Alamanac Vs. Old Farmer Alamanac? Both garbage, or does the Old Farmers Almanac have a little more scientific backing to it? https://dailyvoice.com/new-york/whiteplains/weather/old-farmers-almanac-releases-outlook-for-winter-in-northeast/840209/
  6. I found this to be extremely interesting and how it is already affecting the south pole and how it can also make a big impact on the north pole fur this upcoming Winter. We shall see.... https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/cold-anomaly-stratosphere-polar-vortex-volcanic-cooling-winter-influence-fa/
  7. What I'd really like to see is some really good blocking and a nice large Nor'easter moving at a slow clip. I don't think we've had a multi-day nor'easter that hung around in quite some time. And I mean that as far as the northeastern area as a whole. There's been more specific localized areas that have gotten something like this but not the megalopolis. It just feels like everything has been so quick and the storms are in and out, and quick hitting. We're bound to get a blocking pattern to happen again soon. We're overdue.
  8. Although these preliminary forecasts are helpful ( and make sense ) it amazes me how much things tend to change as we progress through the Winter season. That's what keeps, even the most cynical people, holding on by the nails to see how things play out ( and is the reason why I love every new Winter season ). The devil is in the details as they say.
  9. I completely agree. I wouldn't call this Summer "Meh" here either. We've had some serious heat and long duration days over 90. I think we are at our 3rd or 4th best year with over 80 degrees days this Summer already. So... For us at least.. Its been a Scawcha! And the humidity has been oppressive. Just yesterday we had dew points here in Connecticut over 80 ( 81 and 82 in spots ). Thats is almost unheard of here. Its also been very dry. So I am hoping things will and likely could turn the other way as far as precip goes.
  10. Geez .. I'd hate to see how you feel about something more important ... Lolol
  11. Same here in Plianville. It has that small town vibe.... Very good schools ( I've been pleased with the level of teaching and also the interaction between the teacher and us ). Close to work in West Hartford and taxes are low as well. When we looked for houses a couple years back, we saw some nice houses in West Hartford but at a fraction of the property for what we got here in Plainville. Definitely a lot more house and property for the money
  12. I have a star magnolia and some of the blooms are starting to crack open. I am worried as we are getting some record cold Sunday night through Monday night. Uuggh
  13. Not sure about the frustration at this point regarding having any more options of snow ( especially for SNE ). Is there a slight chance around the 3/31-4/3 time frame... Yeah. But I have moved past this back in early March. Just the way this year went. The good news is we have a new season next year ( and the year after that...ect ). We will see our snows and fulfill our wishes again. I dont care what any of you say.. We are all weather weenies ( otherwise we wouldnt be on here ).
  14. I think for this event, you'd be more apt to have more sleet over by you, with more snow over by me west of Hartford. But it has been ticking East.. so you never know what happens by tomorrow morning
  15. Your pushing.. But its readable where you are or up in the hills near me and west if me. I think we could see some 5" amounts, but mostly on the grass ( the pavement might get an inch or 2 of slush, especially when it comes down harder
  16. it would be nice to get 1 final surprise where we get stumped on with a massive snowstorm. Yeah.. It so melt away, but a great end to a lackluster Winter for most. I've been dream.. Lol
  17. Once pot this Winter behind me at b the end of February. The models were all over the place this Winter ( like they needed to be on Prozac ). It was mentally exhausting. Of course we had several digital Snowstorms and even Blizzards. Although we had 2 be very large events, the were localized to specific areas. On to the the warmer weather events.... Let's hope for a better Winter 2022/2023.1
  18. March has 1 more trick up its sleeve. I can just feel it. I'm thinking mid month. Other than that.... Nada for now
  19. Yeah... I wouldn't consider that a Blowout Now.. Give us an 1888 March Blizzard. Now THAT'S a blowout! :-)
  20. Now that they upgraded us to a Winter Storm Warning.. The thoughts are a heavy thump of snow through the early/mid morning.. With a change to Sleet and even some freezing rain.. Then a flip back to some snow in the afternoon as the upper levels cool before ending early evening
  21. I was thinking the same thing here just west of Hartford in Connecticut. We're in that area where it could go either way and they don't want to make the wrong call. I have a feeling they upgraded to a warning because I think we'll get 6 in. But I guess we'll see probably by 4 today
  22. C'mon man... Get a grip. Lol You're like that person that is freaking out and needs a slap back to reality ( figuratively speaking of course ) but seriously.. Pull it together... Things will be what there going to be.. But be careful to not become a yo-yo like the models. They have been very inconsistent this year.
