  1. What???? Where are you coming up with this SHITE! Lol ( I edited for the youngsters )
  2. This is why I always say, nothing's a guarantee. Of course there were some that were saying it's going to warm back up in another couple of weeks, others that say it's not others that say the winter is going to be amazing, and others that say it's going to be horrible. Horrible. Why is the weather so exciting and always keeps us on her toes? Because it's changing constantly even with future forecasting in hand.
  3. Yeah... Way to early and not concerned at all about no show Snows. If we get it between now and mid December... It would only be a bonus
  4. Love the way you try to push people's buttons. I will pray your house gets iced in for the next 4 months ;-)
  5. 72 here. Enjoying the nice weather..but ready for winter to kick in.
  6. It is going to be a beautiful several days. There are so many places that have outdoor seating.. even along Queen street. Enjoy man ( looking forward to the changes ), but I will enjoy the nice days ahead beforehand.
  7. To be honest, although I'm only a " weather enthusiast " lol...... I've been following weather since I was kid. So it's been a while ( I'm 50 now ). With that said, I've seen many a forecasts from very good meteorologists that did not come to fruition. Weather is a very tough thing to forecast in the future. Look at a couple years ago when we were sure we were going to have a more than decent winter during the fall time, and it just didn't pan out ( things didn't fall into place or something happened with one of the weather patterns that wasn't expected ). I have learned to love the weather and accept the surprises it would bring us throughout the months. That way there's no disappointment ( well.. at least it is a smaller blow to the gut ). I think a lot of people follow these forecasts like their gold, and get so disappointed and so upset with these meteorologists and call them idiots...... well I kind of laugh at that, because here we are, not professionals, and criticizing these people for just following the model guidance and their experience that they have. Are there some that tend to hype? Yes there are. But I'm pretty stoked to see what happens this winter. I know they'll be some surprises, and know they'll be some disappointments. Only time will tell. Justy feelings on forecasting itself.
  8. I smashed one yesterday eve on my wall as well.... Bastards.
  9. He's actually a meteorologist. Since 2008. Now is he correct..not entirely sure. But.. he is a professional, so I'm sure there is some truth in his post. He is also calling for a mostly positive PNA for the winter. I guess we will see how this plays out
  10. I have to say, and I think most of you would agree. What brings me back every year is the love I have for the winter season. Even with all the forecast that come out starting late summer into late fall on what might transpire in the winter ( and as we know they don't always go according to plan ). What's exciting is no one knows when that big one is going to hit or where. But, it will happen, whether it's Eastern New England, Western New England, the Mid-Atlantic or region-wide. Weather in itself is just super exciting. Doesn't matter how old I get, I still love it like I did when I was a kid. I appreciate what everybody has to bring to the table here on this site. That's why I keep coming back. ( Even with the bickering that might happen lol). You guys/gals are a good bunch.
  11. Ended up at 1.41 ( might get another 2 tenths before it ends ). Last night at 1:00 am.. I was sitting at .51"... So got a nice dose from then til. now.
  12. Umm... Maybe it's a subliminal message ( kind of personal though ) lolol
  13. I just heard Tolland will be leveled from the winds. Take shelter immediately! Lol
  14. You kill me..lolol. You always get pumped for some destruction. Lol
  15. Broke down here too. A few years back we got Mini Splits installed in the house in the upstairs bedrooms and also three downstairs on the main floor. It's a great alternative to the oil heat and actually saved us some money already the past few years ( only use the oil heat when it gets super cold to kick in )so with that said, we turnrf them on in the house as it is chilly. It feels so good LOL
  16. I'll give you this, you were right about this weekend. But you made many calls yourself in the winter time where things didn't turn out the way you thought. Point is, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. I do hope it changes and we get the rain. We kind of need it to get out of this drought situation. Fingers crossed
  17. Titan against Titan!!! Oh..wait...sorry... Thought it was the GFS against the EURO... Lol
  18. Well.. It made a landfall.on one of the islands.. Not the mainland.. Second.. It won't lose strength quickly as Florida is so flat with waters still in the Gulf and the Atlantic to draw from.
  19. To those of you who don't realize how scary of a situation this is. My folks, and my brother his wife and their three young girls live in Cape Coral. They're in direct path of the storm. They were not notified of an evacuation until yesterday around 5:00 p.m. and it was too late at that time for them to evacuate. Roads were already flooded.. didn't want to risk driving with sporadic tornadoes. The point is, the evacuations weren't put up for them until late afternoon yesterday. Now they're hunkered down in their home and they're contingency plan is to go into the Attic if the flood waters get too high. For those of you were saying let's go... bring on the storm.. or can't wait to see what kind of damage it does, I tell you to pray instead. I'm one of the biggest Weather Geeks you'll ever find, and I find every storm fascinating and exciting. This time, I'm terrified. They're very responsible people put in a very unfortunate circumstance. And I'm guaranteeing you that most people are in the same shoes as they are. The storm is no joke, and all I'm praying for is that they're safe when this is over. Please pray my friends, please pray for them.
  20. Now THATS the pot calling the kettle black!! I recall last Winter where you were all juiced up hoping for an ice storm, and I had said why would you wish for something that could have severe impacts on us. Lololol. How quickly we forget.
  21. There's a lot of positives as wehead into the fall season with Wimter right around the corner. This is a great read and very encouraging for a strong set up whichnwould give us a great setup here in the northeast ( and.other locations as well ) https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/polar-vortex-early-disruptive-event-winter-influence-united-states-europe-fa/
  22. Man, why would you want to live there. Imagine what those people are going through right now. And if that happened here and all those trees came down, imagine the amount of money time and stress that would cause all of us. Trust me, it's cool to see and I love a big storm, but that damage and what it's doing to people is not cool. If it does come this way and it happens I'll have you come and clean up all the damage for me though .. Lol
