Not you. It's more the mood of some of the posts of the disappointment thus far. I'm just trying to make a point that things can change in an instant, and they do change every few days as far as the models go. Just trying to lift up some of those younger posters that are getting disappointed so far. It's all good

Any images ( is this for Sunday/Monday )

I find it hilarious that the thought process is that the Winter is a failure. Well.. for one... The official start date is DECEMBER 21ST!!!!! Lol. With that said, yes.. I would agree that if the pattern change fails to materialize this month that I to will be very disappointed. However..... There are still 3 more months of Winter to go.
-
Btw .. we have gotten 1.35 so far. There is supposed to be another round this afternoon..so I'm sure I will add to my total. Also, both are METs in Connecticut. Are talking about the storm chance for Sunday into Monday. They said it kind of appeared out of nowhere. As far as the one dropping down from the Great lakes. It's Wednesday, so let's hope it stays on the maps. It's kind of exciting to see that the Canadian still has it in a pretty similar area as it had it for the last many runs

From your lips to God's ears. I would love to have a long duration snow storm. We haven't seen one of those in quite a while. But I'll take two separate ones too, I don't want to be too greedy lol
-
So wait, this is the second Canadian run showing a decent storm. Could there be some truth to this? inquiring minds want to know.

The other crazy thing is every time I look at the forecast from our local meteorologists, if all been saying every week for the last few weeks " looks like it's going to be colder soon " or " looks like the pattern change is finally starting to happen ". But every time we get to the next week coming, the temperatures go back up into the 40s to near 50 again. Yes, it's only the sixth of December, but not a very good pattern shaping up. Disappointed, Yes. Defeated, no. One of these winters will have a very classic winter again..... And hopefully I'll be alive to see it lol. And I know it's only December 6th. I also know that January could turn out to be a great month, and February can turn out to be a great month, and March could turn out to be a great month. So it's only just begun. I guess like everyone else on here, I really got caught up in the pattern. Pattern it's going to change and be an amazing December to remember. Just not too sure now that's going to happen. One huge mega snow storm will make up for all of this. I guarantee that

Is it me or is the GFS actually been correct with it's forecast as far as the pattern keeping the east warmer and snowless,?
-
It's not happening. Okay, I should be more optimistic. It's 99.9% not happening. Hehe
-
I'm guessing that Sey-mour must have been asleep when we had the snow at first ( it was late ). If Fairfield and Easton got snow even as a dusting, I know Seymour definitely did as they're up the valley a little bit more. I was wrong by the way, I actually got just under an inch

We had just under 1/2" with that storm a few weeks back. It started around 9:00 pm and snowed hard for two to four hours. It covered everything up. When I woke up in the morning. There was still white patches here and there on the grass but it was raining by that point.

Listen. I have Three Brothers. Trust me, my brothers have a lot of fun with me and I do with them. I love the light-hearted stupidity. Feels like I'm home. And let's get a damn snow storm going or something
-
Lol.. I'm just laughing at myself. I'm married to a guy, and I could care less about all the m*** jokes. I just like messing with Kev. Because he always talks a lot about milfs..lol. I'm here for the weather just like the rest of you guys.
-
Um, I'd be careful what you say. Kev. Some of us actually might like frontal dilf nudity. Just saying ;-)
-
Oh George.... I love your enthusiasm ( and I wish you were correct ). But, although I always appreciate your optimism and positive take on everything ( well everything Snow and Wintry ), I think you should pull back a bit ... Otherwise you are going to be very disappointed. Trust me, as a seasoned Weather weenie, I know when and how to pull back my excitement. I've been around this block MANY times ( and trust me..I wish I was wrong and you were right )... But it's just not going to happen the way you are hoping...at least not yet.
-
Date I say you were on to something...uugghh ( I hate to admit it ). Hopefully we do see some changes before Christmas. If not... Other than being disappointed.... Winter is not lost ( I mean the first official day isn't until the 21st anyhow ). It just feels like forever because it's freaks have been at this since late October..lol

Boy . How I'd love for this to happen, but has the Canadian ever been the correct model with a storm ( had it ever beat out the other major models? )
-
Trust me, I'm very excited about when the change will happen and when we get our first big snow event. If it doesn't happen this month, it doesn't happen this month. For all those that are freaking out, take a look at what's good in your life. We were able to adopt our daughter this past May. Those things are the reason why life is great. So if we don't get snow so be it. It's weather ..it will change

Ha.. no man. I'm in plainville.. but right on the Farmington line.
-
Never thought about the distance.. but just checked it out. I'm 37 miles to New Haven. Guess that's not so bad.

So with the ECM and the GFS being in completely different camps, who do we trust and who do we lean towards. Did GFS did not do a good job with the upcoming storm for this weekend. It had it far north and now it's making its way down to meet the ECM and other guidance models. In the long run who has done a better job with the pattern, that's the question. Are we going to melt, or are we going to freeze? Can't wait to see what happens haha
-
Ya know Kev .. in all fairness... No one has the answers. As far as a pattern change.. the general consensus was a change Mid month ( around the 14th-16th time frame ). Now there are moments where it look like it might be earlier , but that time frame is pretty much been with the thought process was. Don't give up your faith, you've been doing this like we have for a long time. , So things will change, and so are your mood. ;-)
-
I think our chances are much more realistic for that time period ( Although there are some slight chances still for some snow before the end of this year, and I do hope it happens on Christmas ). You know there's going to be some pushback to your statement as far as the possible change for January, but again, climatologically, it makes more sense for us to have the higher chances of colder and snowy weather for January. Anyway. I'm just waiting for the negative Nelly's to start posting lol
-
Man.. why are you stirring up controversy. At least 40/70 Benchmark brings some facts and puts in the effort on what the models are showing. Wrong place to come at someone who is probably one of the more grounded and brings factual posts to this forum. When you have something that explains your reasoning to differ..than post that, not insults.

I will say, the funny thing is our Mets were actually calling for it to be a pattern change next weekend. They had temperatures going into the 30s for highs here in Connecticut. now they have them them back up into the 40s into the following week ( although this has went back and forth over the last week and a half with the forecast showing cold and then not as cold and cold again now not as cold, so I wouldn't be surprised if this changes again ). We will eventually get snow and cold, I'm confident of that. But this is an odd pattern. It looks like it's a perfect setup, but some delays keep pushing it back a bit. I think that's why there's so many meltdowns and freak outs.
