  1. It's definitely a done deal here. I thought maybe we'd see some accumulating snow at least on the back end. But it's elevation dependent for sure. Even at my elevation of 550 is not going to work where I'm at.
  2. I thought I'd have a chance on rattlesnake mountain, but I'm only up about 550 ft. I'm going to have to wait till next week and hope we get something towards the end of that week. That's okay though. We got a lot of winter left to go, doesn't even officially start till next week
  3. Ryan.. I'm west of Hartford about 12 miles. Will we see this small accumulation at the end when it flips to snow.. or the beginning ( or a little of both ).
  4. I'm right on the Farmington line in Plainville. I'm also up about 550'. These trends are definitely my friend here. But, I'm going in cautiously. I'd rather be surprised on the flip to snow Friday and not disappointed if it does not flip over. I do love these scenarios though... Kind of keeps us in suspense ( not that I don't like knowing we are getting 2' as an absolute ). We shall see. There is plenty more Winter to come over the next months.
  5. Although seeing a change in Friday, looks like this rain will flip back to snow which is a bit of a change from yesterday for us in inland Connecticut
  6. I don't disagree. We will either see a surprise on Friday, or it will just stay rain. Time well tell
  7. Just as I'm typing.. Bob Maxon just said he expects a flip back to Snow Friday afternoon into Friday night. Gives a good chunk of central and eastern CT ( away from the immediate show ) 1-3", had my on the line of 3"-5". Point is he is also seeing this trend where colder air will wrap on and the storm had a longer duration. As I said before.. it would be nice for dinner back end snows ( don't get that very often )
  8. Still seeing some Snow chances next week?
  9. Yeah... I'm west of Hartford on the border of Farmington and plainville. We are about 550 feet up. If we were to get some more Tics SE today.. we could be in the game for something.. maybe even a flip back to something Wintry Friday Eve? I think the chance is there now. You are up even higher..so your chances are even better. If all else fails.. we do have a few chances next week. Time will tell.
  10. I'm starting to wonder now if we can't get a changeover to snow here in north central CT on Friday Eve. If the storm slows and we have enough precip, and with some cold air coming on the back end... Maybe a flip over to snow? Would be nice to finish off with a small coating ( at least it would make the fact that we rained a little less harsh.. lol )
  11. But I'm a little confused about is whether the storm is actually going to go into Saturday or be over with on Friday. I'm seeing some of The models showing that it would go into Saturday morning? If it does I can see you changing back over towards the end
  12. At this point, I'm hoping that next week has a bit more potential to be snow than this mixed to rain event. Looks like there's a couple of opportunities mid next week Christmas itself. Although, hoping not Christmas Eve. We shall see
  13. Just curious.. do you feel the NAM has some worth compared to the GFS and Euro?
  14. It's been known too out shine the big boys every so often. Not holding my breath though ( although I believe it was the storm of 2013 where the NAM was the only What putting out big snow totals. In the end it was correct )
  15. Wouldn't you guys think because of that big volcanic eruption earlier this year that it has a big influence on What has been going on this fall into winter? Things have been chaotic and sometimes not making any sense. But we've also had one of the biggest volcanic eruptions we've had in modern history. On a different note, be careful. What we wish for. Christmas Eve for me is a big deal and we travel to my sister's where the whole entire family gets together. I hate to have that ruined from a big snow storm. Who the hell am I kidding? Lol, I'd get over it
  16. Kev likes those reach arounds. So let's hope for his sake that is the case ;-)
  17. Just responding to torch tiger. He loves to stare the pot. With that said, from what I see, the models seem to be starting the east shift slightly. Again. That's a good sign. I'm sure things are going to change in the next couple of days. Nothing stays the same as far as track this far out ( Well it rarely does ). And with the way the pattern has been, I'm not surprised that will see back and forth with the models. It's not done trending.
  18. Is that what you would do? Not happening man. Even if it turned to shit for the rest of this month.... I can tell you that us hardcore winter junkies aren't going anywhere.
  19. Just over 4" here. Nice and white landscape... Just the way I like it!
  20. So give it to us. Who thinks this this storm is over for anywhere south of Vermont? Or.. Who thinks we still have a shot. Discuss.
  21. You and Taunton might be correct, but let's look at the big picture. The atmosphere is very chaotic. So many of players on the field and there's not one set in stone track for the end of the week deal. You and Taunton blizzard keep poo-pooing the storm as a Rainer. Keep is real guys. Let's see what happens over the next 24 hours.
