  1. Kev.... What in the hell are you talking about. When I look out my window at the woods around almost the entire perimeter of my house.... I see beautiful colors. Is it the best year for fall foliage... I'm not sure on that. But, it's not all brown trees.
  2. I think they're now sitting at 82 now. So 83 is A great possibility at this point
  3. With the increase from what you had is a load to where you were 45 minutes ago, I think getting up to 80/82 is definitely doable. It sucks though...we have to look outside at all the brown leaves since there is no nice foliage to look at ... Lolol
  4. I can't understand how your area, or your microclimate is giving you a s***** Foliage. I wouldn't call it s***** when I look around the area here in Plainville. Plus we took a ride out to Washington outside of Litchfield and it was beautiful. Strange that you think it's real bad
  5. Ok Kev.... We get it, reverse psychology. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. To say right now that it's going to go right through mid-november with dry and warm conditions. I wouldn't really bet on that. Far. Too many things can happen between now and then. Maybe a general consensus would say somewhat stable and mild. But you know as well as any of us on here that it just takes one storm on one given weekend to change things. And when it does, you're going to be the first one calling 4-8 inches of Snow. YOU KNOW I'M RIGHT...LOL
  6. That's ok..... Let the dry, mild and brown stretch go through early November. It's December on that we want to see some changes. Fingers crossed ( and with a little lunch from mother nature ) we will see Winter kick in!
  7. Lolol... We can take this post to a whole other place.. but we will leave the back dooring be. I'm surprised Kev didn't jump.on this one..lol Anyhoo... Looking forward to some warm days. We are taking a drive the Washington Depot Sunday to a Averill Farm. Should be a spectacular Leaf peeping ride their as well!
  8. So you really believe that we will not see sub freezing temperatures until after Thanksgiving? Now, yes, it is going to be mild, downright warm from Thursday this weekend through the middle of next week. Week. But it's going to go back into the low 60s after that. But to say that growing season's going to continue through Thanksgiving is kind of a stretch. As soon as they tell us we're going to see some kind of cold stretch or some kind of snow event, you'll flip your switch.
  9. I mean okay, from Saturday through next Wednesday. It's going to be very warm for this time of year, but it does settle back down into the low 60s by the end of next week in the into the weekend.... Just saying
  10. Kev .. is it that different where you are in tolland? Over here in Plainville? The colors are really popping and looking great. My 11-year-old daughter was saying this morning how pretty the colors were looking. I don't know, it must be a matter of opinion
  11. 35 here this morning.... Frost on all the rooves.
  12. I get the cold thing. I'm 52 now.... And I feel the cold more in my bones. So there's that ..lol
  13. Well... This is where we live ( having more people than not that are here are looking forward to the winter months ). My husband other hand would agree with you. He is not a cold weather or winter fan. Our 11-year-old daughter can go either way, but she does get excited when you see snow ( partially because she hopes for school cancellation lol ). But it's going to be chilly the next 3 days. I did put on two of our mini splits in the living room and family room ( sides opposite sides of the house ) last night because it was chilly.
  14. Ok, I will give you this... You said in a previous post several days back that we were going to see an extended period of 70+. I had disagreed and said maybe a few days. Well... It does look like a solid week ( or a bit more ) of 70's. But I don't see 80's ( although there is one/two days where they have 78..so I guess it's possible ). Either way... What a stretch. I think this would be considered an Indian Summer, correct? Remember.... What goes up must come down. So, my gut would say in about 2-3 weeks, we may see some pretty frigis air. But time will tell.
  15. Funny....it's around 45 here. We are heading to my brother's house down in Orange and it supposed to make it into the upper 60s down there. Warm front is draped right across our State.
  16. This guy is too much. Talk about telling you what you want to hear LOL. Well he has to get it right one of these years. I just read an article yesterday that they are now expecting a lower chance of a La Nina this year than they originally anticipated. Now that would be something good for us in the Northeast. I'd rather it be a La Nada.
  17. Although I do think it's going to be on the milder side, I don't think it's in 70s through next week. Who knows, maybe you'll be right this time. But we should see 2-3 days around those temps
  18. But I'm not sure if there's any type of system that's going to give you any snow like that coming up anytime soon, not from what I'm seeing?
  19. What a storm to track. I am saddened for the destruction that people saw with the Storm Surge, Heavy Winds, Flooding Rains, and Tornadic activity. Not that I am wishing for more, but are the forecast models still trying to bring another Cane into the area around the 17-18th? If so, hoping it's a weaker form, but it would make its way up the coast to give us some rains that we desperately need.
  20. Well, are you surprised by this??? We've had over a year ( maybe more ) of above normal precip. Something had to snap back the other way. Let's hope we get all the dry weather out of the way over the next few months so we can have a normal ( fingers crossed ,, above normal ) precip for later December through March. We shall see.
  21. What's even funnier is the weenie symbol you got from Kev. Sometimes I wonder about him and his infatuation with weenies. Anywho..... Agree with Wolf and your comment on these trolls. I might comment on some of their posts just because of the ridiculousness of what spews out from their flytraps.
  22. Looking at the satellite imagery, it seems to me like the storm took a jog to the north a bit in the last few frames. Although you can't really see an eye now with the satellite, the radar really shows that center with a strong closed circulation. So although there may be a little bit of weakening going on, it's not weakening in a way where it's going to be A significant difference
  23. I know I'm not as savvy as some of you on here when it comes to knowledge with the weather patterns, but I've been on here enough to have an idea. I read a really interesting article about the polar vortex being the weakest in 40 years and the effects it may have on the weather in North America. Especially the Northeast. I don't think this was taken into consideration with some of the previous forecasts for the upcoming winter and wondering what your thoughts are. The article is in the link below https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/record-weak-polar-vortex-event-2024-winter-weather-pattern-united-states-canada-europe-fa/
  24. Someone did mention that I missed it. But thank you
