Blowvember - and not named for wind potential
Snowcrazed71 replied to Go Kart Mozart's topic in New England
So a few things. As far as the colder mornings go, I have a feeling that even Kev will get down below freezing for Wednesday morning. Looks like the entire state's going to be cold. The other thing to mention as I watching Bob maxon this morning. He was talking about the pattern and how it's going to be changing in the next few weeks ( which was refreshing ). He also mentioned that there's been some good signs that the pattern's going to change going into the week of Thanksgiving ( he also mentioned that he feels a 70° temperatures are done). Looking forward to it! -

Maybe something's wrong with you temperature gauge? I know you are up in elevation... But it seems most everyone is in the 20's this am? -

Not saying you're wrong... But I always use caution when looking at things like ... More acorns, or fatter Squirrels, or any of these kinds of Natures signs ... ( Although I did notice 2 of our squirrels lounging in bikinis sipping on Margueritas) ;-) -

Ok Mr Cynical...lol Seriously though. We do have some rain ( some..not a soaker ) for Sunday Night into Monday morning. Not a drought buster, but enough to give most in SNE some rain. As far as Thursday's Rain.... Don't write it off just yet. Like any storm 6 days out, a lot can change, and will. So we need to take a wait and see on this one. Later in the month their seems to be a pattern change coming in temps, and also could bring some needed precip. I doubt highly that we go through the next several months without some beneficial precip ( not 100% of course ), but we also are not the Sahara Desert where this is a likely outcome. -

No Sherlock Holmes ... It was Bradley International Airport. Not Hartford. -
Lolol... It's funny watching you guys crumble. Even funnier when something big hits us and we watch all that despair melt away. Lolol

I agree that things look real s***** right now. But that's a little premature don't you think

Yes, you're right, no freeze for you. You have the best lawn in the Northeast. We live in a furnace. Why no one listens to you is beyond me................... -

And look what happened with this years hurricane season. They first called for a very active season, then when we got to around August they brought that number down as everything just slowed down to a halt... Now Patty has formed way out near the Azores, and the next dorm is just about to form down in the Caribbean. That would bring us to 17 storms. Not bad to end off the hurricane season. -

Yes, you've mentioned that there's been no Frost or freeze about 10 times. But you keep failing to mention that there's been no Frost or freeze right where your house is. Lol. A lot of us have gotten down to freezing already. Frost absolutely and there's even been some freezes. A lot of the trees are almost bare. I don't remember Halloween having all the trees bare like this in quite some time. But I don't think any of this has a bearing on what we're going to see this winter. We need rain or precip of some sort soon. -

Same here man. That little tiny bit of rain we got Tuesday night. Didn't do it and it's our driest October on record. And I was thinking the same thing. We'll go from this extreme to another. Everything in this world lately has been doing things in the extremes. Let's hope that the next extreme relates to winter weather extremes!! -

I was just saying in a much earlier post that it was mentioned by one of the CT mets that he thinks our first chance of seeing our first flakes in Connecticut are going to be sometime between the 23rd and 27th of November. So that goes along with what you're saying about a possible pattern flip. But just so I cover myself. Especially for those others in here that are pessimistic...... I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS HAPPENING FOR SURE! Just wanted to be clear...hehe -

Ha!!! That's the pot calling the kettle black! All jokes aside... I know you get juiced up when we hit some good ole Winter weather. We're all just a bunch of weather geeks, nerds, gurus, ect... And most of us are looking for that's classic set up this Winter. -
That's alright.... Kev is in the November thread already writing this Winter off.... True story...lololol

When did you get so pessimistic? LOL. You've just about written off this winter already. And you've been poo-pooing the fall constantly. Maybe it's your defense mechanism, maybe it's reverse psychology... Who knows. Get a grip man!!! Lol -
Yeah ... On of our weather guys here in CT made mention of this on his live feed he does every morning. He's predicting that we'll see our first bit of snow in CT sometime between November 24th and 27th. We'll see if that comes to fruition. But it's nice to see signs pointing in that direction. In the meantime, we need some kind of rainstorm to come through here. Let's hope something appears out of nowhere within the next two weeks.

38 here.... Temps starting the upward trend today. Praying for some significant rain but not seeing anything I've the next 10 days at least. Uugghh
-
This is his defense mechanism. He has to err on the side of caution and get all pessimistic. But as soon as that first snowstorm comes, he'll get on that bandwagon... And that's when Mr. Optimistic comes into play. Mark my words.

With a pattern change?
-
So there you go. We'll have a third year in a row of a snowless winter. You may very well be right. But I hope you're wrong.
-
Today was definitely breezy. But this was a couple of days ago when I came home. Was no wind, but when I pulled in my driveway after work the entire driveway And lawn was covered with a carpet of leaves. Not just a few but literally covered where I couldn't even see my driveway from the grass.

Not sure if anybody feels this way. But I really feel the trees are becoming more bare faster than they have been in several years. Although the color was really nice around here, the last few days, they've just fallen quickly. I'm sure a lot has to do with the lack of rain. I have a feeling we'll have a lot less leaves on the trees for Halloween than we've had in the last few years at least.
