  1. Got the wood stove going. Gonna take a while to get some heat going upstairs.
  2. Just blows my mind it always goes out for something pointless. Not going to get any better as more folks are connecting their cars to the grid too.
  3. JCP&L sucks. This is the 3rd time in under two weeks that half of the town is without power. On one of the coldest nights of the year as well. Completely unacceptable.
  4. The National Park Service account has become one of my favorites to follow. Perfect blend of humor but also informative at the same time. Many state accounts do the same thing (NJGov) is pretty hilarious too. NWS can do it too. Just need an equal blend of humor and legitimate info. Personally I think their post was perfectly fine. It gave me a good laugh.
  5. Lots of old houses along Barnegat Bay. Many built in the late 1800s - Pre WW2 My home was built in 1909. Rock wool "insulation" (if you want to call it that) on the first floor. Nothing on the second floor. Cold winter nights in the teens it'll be in the 50s inside. Wood stove heats up downstairs, baseboard upstairs In the summertime, upstairs never drops below 80 degrees, even with window A/C.
  6. CMC nudged north about 50 miles. Still a miss for the city
  7. Under one final band. Moderate/Heavy snow. Big flakes. Could get an additional .25" or so
  8. 1.5 - 2" at various spots in town. Overall IMO just the right snowfall to make everything look beautiful but not make travel a nuisance. I'd be totally happy with one of these events each week throughout the winter than a blockbuster storm. Roads are in good shape, but could be some black ice spots as we drop into the teens. In total, 238 miles on asphalt, snow, sand, gravel, and some mud today.
  9. Made the trip to Cape May. GSP in decent shape. 5" on the boardwalk. Coming down hard
  10. Light to moderate coming down now. Tiny flakes. Ratios may be interesting. Headed down to Delaware Bay this AM. Should be a beautiful ride through the woods
  11. Flurries have started. Slightly ahead of schedule. Let's see if we can get some light onshore flow later this morning to squeeze in more moisture.
  12. Precip shield farther north than modeled so far...
  13. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/677b1623a71cc/hrrr_ref_frzn_neus_fh17_trend.gif HRRR with some last minute corrections north
  14. 14" here from that late March 2018 storm. Wintry mix all day long then absolutely ripping once the sun set. 3-4"/hr out of that.
  15. Final call is 2" for here. And I'd be perfectly happy with it. GF says 2" isn't enough, so I told her to find someone(where) else if she wants more. Wind looks to swing lightly onshore by mid-morning, maybe a little ocean-effect enhancement. Regardless it'll make a fun evening riding in the Pine Barrens.
  16. Quick heavy band ripping through here.
  17. Toms River is VERY much South Jersey (lots of Piney culture here)
  18. Down to 39. DP dropping too now. Still light rain though most precip is retreating back offshore. 0.11" so far.
