  1. I'm thinking a 5:1 or 6:1 liquid-snow ratio down here in Jersey.
  2. A few icy spots this morning. I found that out the hard way walking to the car this morning. It has rained here 13 out of the last 17 days this month. I'm completely happy with it being dry for the next five or so days.
  3. Good morning. Light rain down here. 45 out. Should warm into the 50's, maybe approaching near 60 later today. Stay safe out on the roads.
  4. I haven't been following, but best of luck for snow for y'all. Probably all rain here, maybe a few flakes, but confident it stays as rain here.
  5. A grand total of 1.2". Just enough to make the trees look pretty.
  6. Like I said before... air temperature won't be much of a problem. If the ground surfaces are above freezing, then nothing will accumulate, say for car roofs. IMO, the snow will accumulate. It's a matter of how quickly that happens once we switch to snow. In other words... that thermometer I had buried died, and I forget where I put it.
  7. 12z GEM lol. Would be a nice hit for everyone
  8. Just my $0.02, but I don't think much of us get much accumulation, maybe an inch or two in the higher elevations. As far as I see, we hover around 31-35. And if we saw what happened last Monday, we need some decent rates to get accumulating snow. Add in that It will be near 60 on Tuesday, and the ground will probably still be warmer than the air, at least for the start of snow.
  9. If I didn't have classes today I'd take a ride out to Island Beach State Park
  10. Picking up pretty well here too. Just curious to know if anyone gets their wind observations from this site: https://www.sailflow.com/map#40.573,-73.96,9,1,!43532 I use this a lot when sailing and it has proven quite reliable to me.
  11. We've been sitting here at 33 since at least 5 pm. Ground temp is to 33 according to the sensor buried somewhere in my yard where I forget where I put it.
  12. Here's a picture by the waterfront in the last band we got here. I love the reflection on the flakes from the camera flash. I wish we could upload videos as I have a really nice one but it's 40+mb in size.
  13. I keep getting in these narrow little bands that give a nice 5-10 minute burst of snow then back to flurries again
  14. Yes. That is the plan (hopefully). Still have a long way to go though.
  15. Yes it was a secondary interest of mine. Then I got interested in meteorology.
  16. Mental disorders. Trying to get those BS classes done before the interesting stuff begins.
  17. I'm having a hard time jumping from this to writing an 8-page paper for an online class. Good thing I have another week to complete it, or it would never get done.
  18. My thermometer I buried is saying 33 here. The snow has lightened up quite a bit and the grass is becoming more visible. We topped at 1.3"
  19. We can't say "this storm was a bust" or "this didn't work out" until the storm is over.
  20. Like to mention the snow is VERY WET too. Probably 5 or 6:1
