Chilly 44 with light rain and it feels like fall!

I have gone above 70 twice today! Sitting at a pleasant 69 degrees!

In winter, these can be fun if they help establish cold air behind the first system. The second wave! In this case.. just more rain - I do not think this would have supported a snow chance later in the year either.

Agreed! Would be mixed mangled flake at best (from what I gather) and all the sun angle latent heat issues galore!

I hit 40 before Midnight and then it bounced up a degree and stayed between 41 and 42 most of the overnight as clouds must have come in and stopped the radiational cooling! No complaints! Awesome to feel a chill in the air!

Sod will need way too much sun. You are likely to need to go with finer fescue like creeping red or others. Corn gluten meal can deter weeds once you have a good lawn(not before) and I recommend compost as well. Aerate in the fall, and overseed again then. Fall is the best time to plant! One potential challenge will be fungus and I do not know how to keep that away other than chemicals which I would steer clear of with dogs. Even natural treatments for fungus can be a problem. Weeding is something I would do by hand or just work with after the lawn is doing well. Because it is shaded you may want to test the ph level as well. if you do go with thicker fescue, mow as high as you are comfortable with, but at least 3 inches . For bugs I like permethrin, but use carefully

First Snowmaggedden still wins. The heavy snow, lightning and because no one believed me after snopacalypse that we would get another big one. Maybe we will add 2/9/2016

Coming from Richmond I was blown away by PDII - Biggest snow I had ever seen and I thought would ever see! Then we had Snowpacalypse and I was shocked to see almost the same amounts.. I was blown away. BUT NOTHING compared to the S+ hours of snow that I saw in Snowmaggeden I - I saw lightning on and off all night long and just was in AWE! I shoveled every hour until 2am and was just blown away by what I was witnessing... I remember being outside and it was quiet out except the snow as it bounced off my jacket and thinking it was the most surreal thing I had ever seen... like another planet! I will unlikely see anything like that! I measured 33 inches of snow.. and I was in awe! Shoveled for another 8 hours to get all the snow away from stuff even though I had tried to make it less of a burden the night before. EPIC - Unbelievable.. makes me want a time machine to experience that again! OH ya - THE PIVOT ON RADAR! That was unmatched in radar beauty!
