  1. I wonder if, other than the dry air intrusions into the MDR, the well above normal ssts in the 30-60N region of the Atlantic are partly to blame for robbing the deep tropics of lift.

  9. Based on everything you've said over the past few months I'm guessing that you are thinking it peaks moderate (-1 to -1.3C ONI) around November before weakening throughout the winter?
  10. I got a nice, brief, breezy heavy shower w/ ~25mph wind gusts last hour here in Herndon.
  11. The reinforcing cold front is moving through currently with a few showers. Dews will drop sharply through the day today.
  12. IAD has been around 91-93/71-73 for a temp/dewpt.
  13. IAD has hit 96F so far today.

  16. That's a fairly low flying airplane probably not far from KIAD (Washington Dulles Int'l Airport).
  17. I just saw a very small meteorite immediately behind the storm in the clearing sky to the NNW/NW at 11:13pm here in Herndon. I doubt anyone else saw it though.
