  1. Abnormally dry conditions expanded this week on the NE drought monitor: Current Northeast map here: https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?Northeast
  2. My first full summer in Vermont, BTV hit 100 f twice. My memory is that it had only reached 100 twice before in the 100 or so years or record keeping at the time. My only two winters living in NH were 07-08 and 08-09.
  3. Don't you have an outdoor pool? I thought I saw one in the pics when you bought the place.
  4. I posted a couple pages back that almost every post on that page sounded like code. The Tom Bayley line was one of those posts.
  5. Shouldn't heat and sunburn be separate threats? If high surf and rip currents can be their own categories, why can't heat and sunburn? I think someone at NOAA was gotten to and minimized these. The questions are who got turned and by whom. Tom Bayley is a shriner. I repeat Tom Bayley is a shriner.
  6. This whole page reads like some sort of WWII code read over the radio to agents behind Nazi lines. "Tom Bayley is a Shriner and treats us right when we stay.. I repeat Tom Bayley is a Shriner and treats us right when we stay.."
  7. From BTVs forecast discussion this morning: https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=BTV&issuedby=BTV&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1
  8. soupy and kinda gross out, may need to install to tolerate the next 4 hours until the front passes.
  9. nice bursts of rain here this morning. Hopefully we get one more before this moves east.
  10. 55 here, we have had a couple of light showers from the band slouching south.
  11. finally some decent rain here.
  12. hail (pea sized) just started
  13. They could just add wood chips and mylar to the top of it like Craftsbury and give snow storage a try. https://fasterskier.com/fsarticle/innovation-and-the-science-of-over-summer-snow-storage-at-the-craftsbury-outdoor-center/
  14. Almost as crazy as a white guy in Norway who is rampantly tweeting about how little actual racism there is in the US. I'm glad Jan Fredrik Drablos is there to educate us (yeah that is sarcasm). Cool video though.
  15. 34 here. We brought in all the outside plants and fortunately held off on planting things in the ground over the weekend. Three of the rooms look like a greenhouse at the moment with so many seed trays and terracotta pots in them.
  16. Avocado and lemon trees came back in the house here too.
  17. Most noticeable effect in VT will frequently be people's home wells running dry. If I remember right this was a big issue in parts of Vermont 2 summers ago. In late 90's my town at the time would have to resort to secondary ponds in dry times leading to boil water notices for people on town systems. Here are a couple of articles: https://vtdigger.org/2018/10/11/drought-continues-plague-northern-vermont-leaving-farms-wells-dry/ https://vtdigger.org/2018/09/23/drought-takes-toll-wells-northern-half-state/ map from time:
  18. Down to 84 out. Was outside for a few minutes and the house felt like an AC was on when I came back in. Glad the dews are not too bad yet.
  19. 97F now down from a high of 108 about ten minutes ago. The thermometer may or may not get some direct afternoon sun before the trees on the steep hill behind the house put it into shade.
  20. Almost as tall as the pollen piles of Tolland!
  21. storms popping over the central Greens now, Whites too from the looks of it.
  22. slant sticking the pollen
  23. 90 at Lebanon https://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KLEB.html
  24. Live free or die. Worst I have ever had it was the summer of 03. We were living in W. Warwick RI at the time. The neighborhood sounded almost like a warzone on July 4. The dogs were manic. Making it hard to understand was that we lived about 4 blocks from the Station Nightclub and the fire had just been about 4 months earlier. Only having one neighbor within a half a mile has lessened this issue.
