I've been bumped up to a Warning. It is snowing lightly and we have about half an inch so far. Enough to cover the dog poo in the yard.

Issue for both could also be that isn't there a lag time between the shot and it being fully effective. This morning on the radio, an NPR story mentioned a 2 week lag time and when I had the flu shot in the fall the nurse also mentioned a 2 week delay in full protection.

light dusting here. I was shocked this morning as I had to go down to town first thing.. The snow cover was the opposite of normal. The lower I went in elevation the more snow had survived the Christmas melt. I guess cold air must have been trapped lower while we got the warmth. It was an odd surprise to see a few inches of glacier in town while even our woods were scoured clean.

It didn't seem like we got much rain out of this- long duration but not heavy at anyone time. That being said the pack is toast and all of a sudden this morning our springs all erupted and streams started from all parts of our hill. Look like KLEB has 0.90 so far which feels right. The two closest stations on WUnderground are at 1.26 and 1.56.

19.8 here which is actually my biggest in Vermont. Biggest in our Norwich time had been 18.7 though that was only 6 days after an 18.2 storm. Peacham we usually missed on the the heaviest- I don't remember anything over 16 in those years (09-16). South Royalton (92-02) I don't remember anything reached 18 (even 3/93) but lots were in the 14- 17 range. Pretty easy to clean up but both shear pins went on the blower at the bottom of the drive so I will have to do a polishing up over the weekend.

Very little happened to people but what happened was instead of 3 TV stations clamoring for attention there are now hundreds plus the net. TV wants you to tune in and thus hypes this stuff like crazy. People now also share Kuchera clown maps on Facebook and that is how news is spread to many without explanation. People are the same, media is different. If anything snowstorms have less of an impact than they used to because up until the 1/96 storm, AWD and 4WD with the exception whereas now most everyone has an SUV or Crossover with AWD or at least knows someone with one. In the 96 storm, NJ hospitals asked for volunteers with AWD to help patients get to treatment. That would likely not happen today.

SRF mean up here at KLEB is now up to 18.5 inches with a range from 3.5 to 30". I am thinking 4 to 6, maybe 8.
