Do you get moths and other bugs attracted to the screen?

My memory is that years ago (80s or early 90s) a small town in Southern New Jersey claimed to have recorded 25 inches in 5 hours when a Tstorm just sat over it. I have been unable to have found any mention of it when I have searched so my memory could be wrong. Then there is the wind to consider. When we lived in Peacham, the coldest night we had was right after a frontal passage and the wind was up. It prevented the cold air just sinking below us like it would on calm nights. We quickly got to about to -28. For those of you concerned by the cool morning, rest assured that the Euro and GFS are in agreement of no snow the next 10 days. While I have not tracked the GFS performance in this regard, Euro was dead on re July snowfall. It is on a roll!

Part of the issue could have been where to send and what the needs would be in surrounding states. There was a fair amount of uncertainty about how this would all play out and where the biggest needs would be.

I have no idea which way it has to be flipped as I am almost always using a camera. Such is life in areas with very spotty cell coverage. It seems to me as long as the lens faces towards what you want to capture that the upsidedown issue auto corrects later.

Upright is a natural way to hold the phone so I can understand it happening as it does not seem to be lessening. It thought for sure when the guy focused on how much the wires were shaking that he was going to move At least the trees were all upwind from the lines.

When we lived in Bethlehem, there was some controversy in town because a nice old lady in town was baking brownies and leaving them out for the bears. They developed a tremendous sweet tooth and were pests around town for awhile. It took a lot of persuading to get her to stop.

Those are Great North Woods Murder Cicadas. They emerge every 17 years and have been known to each through screen windows in their prey. They prefer to feed on roadkill, meterologists and small dogs. In 1952, the sky darkened over Buxton and they were seen devouring a cocker spaniel in less that 4 minutes, leaving behind only its collar. RIP Whiskey.

52f here. A couple of days ago it felt like maybe the back of summer had been broken. It definitely seems that way now. Chamber weather for days to come. Soon the leaves will need to be peeped at, I will get in a panic to get outdoor chores down prior to the freeze up, the GFS will flip from having a 942 hurricane at the end of every run to having a blizzard coming just inside the benchmark to finish each cycle, and someone will set up a thread for this year's Grinch storm.

More than understandable. You guys have it bad for tree damage these past few months. I hope everyone came out physically unscathed and "just" property damage! Did your fence come out of it unscathed this time?

Was the wind's strength why the camera was always moving around? I was getting dizzy watching this. Wind for us maxed at about what I think is shown in this video. We were lucky and did not lose power at all which was surprising as prone as we are to power interruptions. Only blow downs were some tomato plants. (Same as with Irene interestingly enough) Even my broken maple which is snagged on other trees remained in its mostly upright position.

Looks like it was at a Fireworks plant.

He is in Tolland- they lose their power on a weekly basis. They probably will be without power and grilling everything in their freezers by noon.

That would probably cause damage in Tolland.
