Heaviest rates of the night. Temp finally down to 32.0

Closing in on an inch at the house. Heavy returns to my SW! Nothing like expecting wet grass and getting pasted instead. 

Heavy snow in Burke! Roads turning white.

I’m down to 32.9 and it’s starting to really accumulate. Laying beautifully in the pines!

Temp down to 33.6 and starting to really stick now 

Fat flakes here!  HRRR up to 4.3 

Light rain switching to fat flakes!

It’s going to be a fun ride. Looking at DPs, we’re going to be entirely banking on heavy rates, which is certainly possible. 

I know it’s useless at this point, but the gfs was an absolute thumping on the front end

Either way, the NAM more than doubled my total on the 3k before things switch to sleet and then dry slot.

I get it but the floor for my area is probably 34-36 tonight based on current obs and DPs. I want snow just as much as anybody but I’m not going to wishcast it. Rates can definitely overcome but that tends to be convective and isolated, not uniform.

49/19. Warmed up way quicker than I had expected. Not anticipating anything more than wet grass. Token flakes are better than no flakes though!

Clouds are close here. It’d be nice to put a cap on the temps since I’m inching close to the mid 40s.

Good to see the models coming into a 800 mile agreement. Maybe a final solution will show up soon. 

Honestly it’s better to be let down before it happens than let down when it happens. 

As much as I hate to say it. Never. Trust. In-situ CADS. This winter sucks. That’s all!
