  1. Aimless, clueless, lost. That’s the Jets. Hopefully not GFS
  2. well, ironically, this is true. It’s been a lot colder this December than we’ve had in a while. 1 to 2 inches of snow in the immediate northern suburbs last week. But it’s still nowhere near what normal is in New York City proper for December 10 20 or 30 years ago.
  3. this is probably the most important piece of the 78 pages thus far. guys are rooting for some sort of pattern change and major snowstorm that has yet to materialize. I was one of the first people to point out toward the end of November, that we seem to be in an endless cutter pattern…that I didnt like going into Dec 1. each week we keep slicing off another piece of December. winter isn’t done by any means. But what is becoming alarmingly clear to me is that prolonged cold and snow in December in New York City is almost impossible in this new climate. even the shot of cold air that follows the snowstorm coming next week is a shot. and given that we are in a La Niña, if we don’t get something in December, coupled with the warm November… We are likely looking at a gutter ball of a winter in terms of average snowfall. so hope something happens in the next 10 days… It’s really important for the winter ahead
  4. Much warmer now than the 80s. I don’t even know if a consistent pattern like that is possible now.
  5. fits this seasons pattern so far if it’s true. On this forum, Im particularly cautious when too many jump at a storm signal or pattern change over seven days out. too many variables
  6. For all the torch/bad winter/warm water/missed chances posts…Belleayre today
  7. Common theme since November. Background state is just a bit cooler now. at this point just settle for the fact that you’re having a rather normal temperature stretch in December and if you get lucky (like inland areas did Sunday) with one of these events, so be it. If the goods are still 7 to 10 days out…this is your December.
  8. 22F this morning with that snow on ground really helping pull the temperature down
  9. Welcome to being a Mets fan :). Friday is rain. The show this week was yesterday
  10. Finally accumulating in Hastings. But the flakes are huge. I don’t know if it’s going to turn over to rain. Snow Globe esque
  11. Mod Snow in Hastings. All wet. No accumulation. Been snowing light to moderate for past hour. if we get any accumulation at all, it will be after the sun sets with these temperatures.
  12. actually MJO won this round with todays event. Happy to tell you that too
  13. Back end world almost never works in NYC metro sadly
  14. Yeh… just like Thursday looks too Someone’s gonna do very well on the interior sections tomorrow
  15. Why dont we concentrate on tomorrows storm instead of obsessing over a storm a week from now? anytime this forum gets all hyped up a week out… It always leads to disappointment.
  16. 25F this morning. Colder than forecast
  17. the rare Miller B! Im always more comfortable with an A…it’s what I know
  18. too early. at least it feels like Dec today
  19. There is no cold air. Even overnight lows up this way are just below freezing. you need a thread the needle event to manufacture cold air.
