Nobody is canceling anything. December has become a home run hitter in the twilight of his career. May come through for you; but don’t bet on it. Warm November followed by warm December usually means your winter is pretty much fucked. Doesn’t mean that will happen this year. I can tell you this though: you’re going to need a real cold second half to November to get this month below normal or even to normal.

Winter 2015-2016 was a non winter…accept for one massive snow storm which immediately melted

You ever notice that these GFS forecasts you post are always 5 degrees too warm?

you have a right to be worried. 70 is a crucial threshold for a marathon. People start dropping like flies above that.

Absolute peak color today in mid/southern Westchester. About two weeks earlier than last year. Cooler/drier air moving in feels good this evening

Right. La Nina comes in different forms. In our area I’ll take it over an El Nino anyday

For most of us, it started much earlier than last year. And much earlier than recent years. I did notice on my trip to Wading River how sparse color was out your way…and I chalked it up to extended drought conditions that didnt really effect rest of area as much

That has def been a trend I noticed too. Back to today, widespread low temp differentials this morning from 45F at EWR to 52F at LGA to 37F at HPN

Can’t wait for the significant increase in accidents from barely awake people on the way to work and school in the dark. How stupid to give into uninformed mob rule yelling at clouds. It gets dark early because you live in the north during the winter solstice

I am impressed with how much better the fall foliage is in Westchester than in eastern Suffolk on this beautiful October day. The drought really did a number on the trees out there

Plenty of steady rain in Hastings Got rocked by a few good jolts of thunder…but most of the convection was background noise as it slid south of us. Nice night!

Its weird to leave MSP and have it be significantly cooler here…but tonight it is. Nonetheless, that airmass is quite warm and headed east…

I would like to say it’s alarming but that’s the wrong word. It is acute. Too acute for any normal realm of occurrence
