  1. 26F Lots of Frost this morning in Westchester…warm up coming
  2. So the pattern change 3 weeks out went bust? Go figure! 48F to kick of a nice November, ahem December week. Wet, wild, and mild continue!
  3. I mean, if it was November, it would’ve been erased. When was last time we have had a well BN (or normal) second half of Dec?
  4. Always 3-5 too warm…but looks spot on for week 1 with that correction. Wouldnt be so quick to dismiss it with the models playing chase the tail on the “pattern change”
  5. This week looks real warm…for December. 50F now. Nice band of Heavy Rain in Eastern PA headed our way.
  6. Exactly. Been cutter city so far with only cold air occurring as storms pass. Another one tomorrow. Another one next week. Then we move to mid month. 2 -3 weeks is an eternity in forecasting.
  7. Too many cutters with upper 50s in a row. Dont like it. Looks like another two on tap
  8. Boxing Day was a top storm. The way it blew up in the middle of Xmas Day was what made it cool. The fact that the mayor was out of town, and the sanitation workers, and the mayor had something going on also led to a prolonged period of being “shut in” like a much larger storm.
  9. You need another Nino (and brutally bad winter) to likely change the status quo. Something snapped in 2015-2016 Also, the background state of those two winters was a colder climate. 93-94 was spectacular in a way that likely isnt possible today…an almost endless supply of cold and storms. I think there was a two week break towards the end of January
  10. that speaks to a larger problem about how we actually calculate average annual snowfall. I imagine it will all get washed out as a statistical anomaly long range as it becomes too warm to snow frequently. Long Island snowfall isnt going to continue an upward trend medium or long term. It will be rainfall totals that increase
  11. Yeh, minus another 3 to 5 for those warm GFS forecasts.
  12. Three weeks below and normal, 2 weeks above pattern thus far. See you in mid December. 47F at am. Normal high temp
  13. Well…the normal high this week is around 50 give or take. This weather has been absolutely brutal and well below normal
  14. Too early. The warm up in December will fuck us for the start of winter Snowing and absolutely winter-like in Detroit
  15. I just wanna say that those temperatures are above normal but nothing too extreme…normal high is right around 50 at that time of year
  16. 39F. How much snow didnt peeps get to the north? Lot of precip, just curious how it all played out
  17. 27F in Hastings on Hudson. Finally!!!!
  18. i’m in Westchester and every day that you were 28 we were about 35. Close but no cigar. Forget the city. They have plants in bloom
  19. 36F waiting for this first freeze this year is worse than waiting for election results in America Although Belleayre did turn on the snow guns, so there is that…
  20. I was about to bring the umbrella and chairs in… In the middle of November and I made the decision to keep them out. The truth is for better or worse our climate is warm so much at this point that I could see using them several days in Dec Jan and Feb…and using it almost full time from mid March on. Even this next shot of cold looks transient… In that I could already see that warm up towards the end of the month. 63F at 445p
  21. What about the Giant squall line over Trenton headed right toward city? That looks like it means business
  22. Really? I’m just looking at the radar and I don’t get that impression
  23. I dont know about the sun. would need to happen this morning…and that wont help too much. The radar shows a wall of water moving in from late morning onward. Surprisingly, all the airports are starting off below 60F 53F here in Westchester
