  1. I didn’t miss what happened. I was one of the first people to post in the observation thread about what was happening. The reality is it’s Sunday morning. Very low traffic. I hate to contradict anybody on here because I don’t want to get into an online spat. Guys were talking about icing in the city icing on Staten Island. Icing stopped south of the cross county. It was near 40° in the city. It was actually one of my best rides into Jfk because nobody could get into the city from the north and once I cleared that hurdle there was almost no traffic at all. Things get overblown on this site for better or worse. If you live in an urban area, this may be a little ice in the morning…but mostly a non event, light rain day for your Sunday
  2. I mean, for most of the metro area this is a rain event I dont want to minimize icing possibilities, on the other hand, thats kind of the situation in our urban areas. I84 corridor is very used to ice storms and will handle this without much issue
  3. Interesting snowfall. Approaching 6 inches but I noticed much less on my asphalt driveway. Maybe 4 Unusual for a very dry powdery snow
  4. LOVE!! The Winter we got cable, We had no snow and I never saw that graphic…it was 1995. Horrible It wasn’t until the following winter that I saw that graphic all the time They used to have good Christmas music during the local forecast too
  5. 6 inches is criteria for warning right? I would say WWA is appropriate for now. This is a 3-6 event unless things go right…which can and may happen They can upgrade as banding sets up Between snow and covid there will be no rush hour tomorrow anyway
  6. It’s funny AccuWeather has never wavered in their prediction 3 to 6 inches thru all the various models runs
  7. Help me learn… Why are you holding the GFS is such regard after the last two storms? It seems that it has been quite bad this season
  8. I dont get the doom and gloom. Looks like a nice little storm for the area. too much drama in this forum. No offense…
  9. The Cross County Parkway seems to be the freezing line. Once you get to the city you’re above 32F
  10. 30F Freezing Drizzle Ice on everything Going to be a real problem on roads Photo says it all
  11. As someone else pointed out before the storms are so much more powerful… Even if they are fast moving you can get a heavy duty haul
  12. Kaity Tong, Jack Cafferty haha WB 11
  13. The models do very well. Don’t manufacture a storm. Don’t manufacturer a bust. Right now the models are telling you there is going to be some snow Friday. Now the old Mr G line: “some snow or some snow?” That is TBD Im glad GFS is east…that means it will be a blizzard given its record this year
  14. 15F! I think Ive said this once or twice this season so far…it is a shame that little snow system didnt pan out…def would have had a few days of winter feel
  15. I think this has a lot to do with it. Nothing is really going right at the moment…including the winter weather many of us look forward to. This holiday season is like a Mets playoff run…
