  1. Thankfully its dry. One notable absence this warm october is rain or humidity. Good
  2. Man, this winter is so fucked. You could just feel it in your gut. What we did to this climate… Another close to 80 day next week too
  3. We could at least pretend this is the old days with temps 5 degrees colder
  4. Two day mega torch like our patented cold snap!
  5. That literally killed people. A lot of people and caused a lot of damage. Even though many people on here are screaming like the sky is falling we are hardly in a major drought situation. We certainly don’t need any tropical storm like Ida ever again. That was a fucking disaster be a tick in any direction. We are like 2 inches low in annual rainfall.
  6. Like 65 degrees. I think we are safe from that
  7. 38F this morning. coldest morning yet. Surprised honestly. Radiational cooling at its best
  8. I think the transition to la nina winters are good. So I have heard guys talk about on here. Something has to click eventually though
  9. good. Something different to talk about it’s like living in Salt Lake. Enjoy the cool dry weather and this weekend the warm dry weather. if this ever turns into a drought couldn’t happen at a better time of the year
  10. Always goes north and is less extreme than modeled 5 days out
  11. The patented three day cold shot that has become a normal during the winter. Starting right on cue
  12. I think your 10 year run started as our local climate started to show a noticeable change to warmer and more moist. Certainly increased humidity and subsequent higher night time lows. but the consistent over precipitation, breaking annual norms and the monthly big rainfalls just arent historically normal
  13. they wouldn’t be well above normal. There has been a shift but don’t make it sound like we’re running 5° warm versus 1995. The rapid shift really occurred post 2010. which means the averages will really jump when the 1990s are removed from the average. But that is 20 years from now and that’s why they use a 30 year rolling average. because they may not jump as much as we think they will. We need to see. The whole point of the 30 year average system is to avoid narratives like this of rapidly moving goalposts
  14. Looks like Daytona is taking it on chin this morning. They are used to these (now usual) backside storms and they seem to cause more damage for area than storms that graze them from ocean Gusting to 59 kts currently
  15. Cousins in Stuart Florida getting wrecked by tornadoes. Family in Tampa fine. Go figure. Me? Sitting in Whitestone Bridge traffic going to Citi Field almost wishing a tornado would clear this freaking road
  16. There’s really no way to do that. There’s so many factors at play. Speed of movement, terrain, ground saturation and the amount of precip. For intensive purposes, this is so bad because it is a mountainous region. This level of precip would be bad anywhere, but it’s especially bad when you add in landslides and mudslides due to the mountains.
  17. so glad I gave up a weekend of weather so you could have a vegetable garden for another two weeks haha cant be worse than last fall right? Rain/59F Fireplace on
  18. It’s almost October. Who cares? Not worth a saturday. And no, we didnt need the rain. Plenty of rain thus far and a few dry weeks doesnt make a drought or a crisis
