if you want to start increasing snowfall here just build an artificial lake N or NW of our area and relocate those pesky neighbors who live there.

Yep, this is called entropy and it applies all over the universe.

If you go by 2020 alone, according to the latest numbers, we've had 22 billion dollar storms that have cost us 95 billion dollars in total. It's the most number of billion dollar storms we've had and that's been on a rapid increase for the past 20 years or so.

It's interesting that the snowy pattern in the Mountainous West, which began early on in the fall looks to repeat itself. This has been the region most resistant to long-term warning (on our continent anyway.) On the other hand, if you look at a place like Chicago, which has had a pitiful winter, that looks like it will continue.

Sea effect snowfall is increasing for the same reason that lake effect snows are on a rapid increase....because of warmer waters fueling more moisture to precipitate.

You made up for it in March 2001 lol. The big busts down here were April 1997 (8-16 predicted, got 1-3), March 2001 (2 - 3 ft predicted and got 3-5 inches on the back end), January 2008 (last heavy snow warning event, it mostly rained with a few flakes mixed in) and some also consider January 2015 a bust since 2-3 feet were predicted and except for eastern LI, the rest of us were a foot or less.

Chicago hasn't had much of a winter, and I have extreme doubts this is going to radically change. It looks like Minnesota and points north and west of that are the places to be. The mountainous west, notably, has been the most resistant to the warming climate signal.

Interesting thing to throw out there is, in our new climate, it looks like Dixie Alley is the new hot spot for tornadoes. They seem to be getting it much more than the traditional tornado alley now......

you can still get decent snow storms in the first half of April....so I'd rather the warmth start after the 15th and hopefully we have a roasting hot summer with multiple 100 degree days like we did in 2010.

the long term climate trend is far stronger than any ENSO state, I doubt there is going to be much if any cooling.....except for the usual suspects in the mountainous west, they seem to be the last to the warming climate party as always.

The entire planet is roasting, this is obviously part of the long term climate trend.

They also do mass surveillance there on a scale similar to the US and the UK. Violence against minorities has also been on the rise there.
