  1. What was the highest temp recorded in the area? I heard it got to 65 at 8 PM?
  2. November 1989 was the last time that I can remember. That tornado went north into Westchester too, just like this one.
  3. Fay was like 55 mph gusts, Isaiah was close to 80 mph. This was probably a little stronger than Fay but less than Isaiah.
  4. I'm surprised no one is posting radar images of whats going on. Haven't seen one since the event began.
  5. The tornado is actually going north of NYC, looks more like Westchester, squall line is coming through Brooklyn now
  6. we're going to be screwed if we get a big windy noreaster this winter a la Dec 1992. I'm actually surprised my power hasn't gone out during a big windy snowstorm- that would be really bad (no heat). I think our windiest snowstorms were Boxing Day 2010, Jan 2016 and Jan 2017.
  7. Yeah that was happening here even after the squall line came through. Estimated between 50-60 mph. All quiet on the western front now lol
  8. Glad I stayed here tonight Severe Thunderstorm Warning just issued for here
  9. at 2000 ft just north of you, had heavy rain for about an hour during the day but some really heavy rain tonight and the house is shaking and the winds rattling tonight- it sounds like a jet engine outside! wild! I decided to stay in NE PA tonight and go to LI tomorrow because it was dark and foreboding all day. 30 min? It must be over 50 here near Albrightsville! Severe Thunderstorm Warning just issued!
  10. I decided to stay in NE PA because it was rather dark all afternoon and come back to LI tomorrow, there was about an hour of heavy rain and then a break and now it's really raining hard and extremely windy, my windows are rattling and I can feel the house shaking. Pretty wild out here.
  11. I love it! Early call on Thanksgiving weekend- sunny and 70s?
  12. Chris, how warm does it need to get for a monthly average to be the warmest November of the decade? 52.8? Do you think we can do it?
  13. It's noteworthy that we didn't have a single November (monthly average I'm assuming, not just the first two weeks?) above 48 F since 2010.
  14. Must also remember this is the Spring Tide "King" Tide event, the last of the year and we have coastal flood advisories in effect for that too. That would be there regardless of the oncoming weather.
  15. Looks like I'm leaving just ahead of it. Getting out at 1 PM will be up near Mt Pocono on I-80 around 2 PM should get into Long Island between 4 and 5. Looks like NE PA will be getting hit around 6 PM so I'll be on LI by then.
  16. So we have records on both sides of the country from 1999.....interesting.
