  1. Hey is next winter forecast to be a neutral pattern? So are we looking at the dreaded neutral after la nina pattern?
  2. check out the news on the anomalous freeze and snowfall in central and southern Brazil. Old people saying it's the first time they've ever seen snow there and lots of crops destroyed in the freeze.
  3. Brazil has been unusually cold and old people are talking about the first snowfall they've ever seen there in their entire lives. Large amounts of crops frozen. Part of the same pattern?
  4. Yeah the ones we're seeing are the annual ones. But even those seem to be coming later than they used to. When I first moved to long island during the 80s they consistently came in the first week of July (80s-00s). Over the last decade or so, they've come later, in the last few days of July. I wonder why this is?
  5. This year reminds me of 1996, remember we had peak heat in late May and then a humid summer with a lot of rain but not much heat. We only hit 90 once in summer, and that was on the last day of August. We also got hit by a 65 mph tropical storm (Bertha) after July 4th weekend whose center passed right over JFK. Got 7" of rain from that in the Poconos, that lasted an entire day. That was a Cat 3 as it approached the NC coast earlier.
  6. Chris have you heard about the anomalous freeze and snowfall in central and southern Brazil thats destroying so many crops there? Is that part of the same problem?
  7. This looks like something that would happen in the South lol. I wonder how much rainfall and winds my other home got in Jim Thorpe (near Albrightsville and Penn Forest township.) I'm going up there on Saturday. Do you have any numbers or reports out of there?
  8. I think there were some years that JFK hit 100 in August and NYC didn't- can you check these years (1980, 1983, 2002)?
  9. 100 late in August or early September?
  10. well nature does natural population control in the form of pandemics it also happens to lower pollution and carbon footprint levels (so it proves the studies that show that the best way to limit one's carbon footprint is to have one less child.)
  11. was that on the first day of Spring in 1967?
  12. thats why that crazy long extreme heatwave in 1953 that went into early September may never be repeated
  13. There was a debris ball signature on radar, I'm not sure that's ever happened before up here. Allentown had 3" of rain?
  14. I wonder what the EF number on that PA tornado will be? Scary stuff! It got 20 miles NE of Philly, and I thought it was going to hit Allentown! We didn't get much here on Long Island, just light rains.
  15. is this why it feels like we're in an el nino pattern, Chris?
  16. question is, why would you even want a visual lol
  17. I think they stayed south of us. Likewise the hot summer that was predicted went west of us lol.
  18. Sounds like we should be in the action zone for once lol. I live in extreme SW Nassau, about the same latitude as Allentown and I-78.
  19. How did Newark get to 87 yesterday? Everyone else was 5 degrees or more colder.
  20. Don what are the chances NYC beats its July rainfall record and the chances we get to one foot of monthly rainfall?
  21. So Chris, whats this 1.5 C degree rise we're trying to stop? It's already WAY too late for that. Might even be too late to stop a 2.0C rise
